Strictly Come Dancing viewers have been left scratching their heads following Vicky Pattison’s shocking elimination at the weekend.
Sunday night saw the Geordie Shore star, 38, emotionally axed from the dance show with her pro partner Kai Widdrington, 30.
Their send-off had the whole studio in tears, with Vicky heaping praise on Kai and apologising for not reaching Blackpool week, which is a milestone in the Strictly calendar.
After a pair is eliminated from Strictly, as per tradition, they will appear on spin-off show It Takes Two on Monday night for an interview.

Hosted by Fleur East and Janette Manrara, the BBC Two sister show dedicates a significant chunk of the 30-minute episode to the departed celeb, who reminisces on their experience and watches a highlight reel.
However, when fans tuned in tonight in the hopes of seeing Vicky, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, they were disappointed.
Opening the first show of the week, Fleur told cameras: ‘This weekend, we sadly said goodbye to Vicky and Kai.
‘They can’t be with us tonight, but will be joining us later on in the week.’
Instead, Fleur interviewed Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, plus Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon, who faced their fourth dance-off of the series but survived against Vicky.
Taking to social media after joining It Takes Two, a confused @StevenLobel10 asked: ‘Where’s Vicky’.
‘Odd Vicky and Kai aren’t there’, wrote @DebbieBlackma14.
@tvreality93 expressed further concern after realising Vicky had not yet addressed her elimination, despite documenting the rest of her Strictly journey online for her followers.
‘Vicky still hasn’t posted anything since her exit which is abit strange no exit post on insta hope she’s okay’, they said. ‘Kai has tho [sic]’.
Indeed, on Sunday night, Kai, whose past Strictly partners include AJ Odudu and Angela Rippon, paid tribute to Vicky.
In a sweet post, the dancer wrote: ‘Wow, what a journey! While it is with genuine sadness we leave the competition, it has been the most amazing fun and pleasure dancing with the wonderful Vicky Pattison.’
Accompanying a photo from their tango, which topped the leaderboard, he continued: ‘You not only conquered your fears and your nerves, but you showed the world what an amazing dancer you are and how far you’ve come from being a complete novice.
‘I am incredibly proud to have been your dance partner in this wonderful adventure that we call strictly and I truly wish we could’ve taken our journey even further.’
He concluded by wishing the remaining contestants well: ‘Thank you to all our incredible Strictly supporters who voted every single week. Your energy and belief is why we worked so hard on that dance floor. We love you all!
‘Good luck to everybody else who remains in the competition, and see you all in Blackpool! This won’t be the last you see of us! 🫶🏼’
The comments section was quickly flooded with supportive messages, with fellow pros including Johannes Radebe, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, and Gorka Marquez saying how ‘sorry’ they were to see them leave.
Speaking during the results show, Vicky told host Tess Daly through watery eyes: ‘It was so lovely while it lasted, and I’ve had the nicest time.’
She admitted that it had been a ‘difficult’ week as she trained for the jive, which she danced to Girls Aloud tune Sound of the Underground.
‘I tried my hardest, as I have every week.’
Vicky proceeded to hail Kai as ‘the best partner a girl can ask for’, telling him she felt like she had ‘won’ already in having him alone.
Alas, the podcaster’s road to the Glitter Ball has ended, as all four judges – Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood – agreed to save Balvinder and Julian, who danced an American smooth.
She will join her fellow stars – Amber Davies, Lewis Cope, La Voix, Karen Carney, Alex Kingston, and George Clarke – in the Tower Ballroom next weekend as Strictly heads north for its biggest show of the year.
The BBC has been contacted for comment.
Strictly’s Blackpool special airs on Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, while It Takes Two airs Monday-Friday at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
