Liev Schreiber is recovering in a New York City hospital after a sudden health scare sent him in for urgent medical care, as reported by TMZ.

Sources say Schreiber spent Monday undergoing a battery of tests as doctors try to determine what caused the episode. The exact issue remains unclear. Doctors have not yet identified the source of the problem, but Schreiber has remained alert and mobile. He can walk, speak, and move without difficulty, and he has full use of his limbs.

Despite the uncertainty, Schreiber’s condition appears stable. Those close to him say the actor has remained communicative as doctors continue diagnostic scans and examinations.

The urgency of Sunday’s symptoms prompted immediate action, allowing doctors to begin treating and monitoring him.

Schreiber Opened Up About Frightening Onstage Episode in 2024

In April 2024, the Tony-winning actor opened up about a frightening medical emergency he experienced during his Broadway run in “Doubt: A Parable.”

Appearing on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the 56-year-old described a sudden, crushing headache that hit backstage before he walked out to perform.

People quoted the actor saying: “The worst nightmare that an actor could possibly ever experience,” he said, recalling how he couldn’t remember his costar Amy Ryan’s name and then blanked on the play entirely once he stepped into the spotlight. “It all vanishes. The play is gone from my head … I know I’m in a play but I don’t know what play I’m in,” he shared.

Seeing the fear on his doctor’s and wife’s faces, he assumed he had suffered a stroke.

An MRI later cleared him, and a neurologist diagnosed him with transient global amnesia, a condition he joked can follow “migraines and rigorous coitus.”

Schreiber is a father of three children. He shares his son, Sasha, and daughter, Kai, 16, with ex-partner Naomi Watts. He also has a daughter, Hazel Bee, 2, with his wife, Taylor Neisen. An official statement has not yet been issued about his health emergency.

This is a developing story, and it will be updated as more information becomes available.
