Man dies after ‘medical emergency’ inside a McDonald’s

A McDonald’s customer has died after suffering a medical emergency in front of customers.
Paramedics found the man, no further details, in a critical condition at the burger joint in Stafford on Monday evening after calls from concerned diners at 6.21pm.
Despite being put on advanced life support, he was pronounced dead at the scene later on.
The cause of the medical emergency remains unclear.
The incident sparked a huge emergency response, with eyewitnesses reporting saying several marked cars and two ambulances were called to the branch in Eccleshall Road.

It is located just a few yards from the town’s centre, located nearby to a busy business park of shops.
The restaurant closed during the incident. It is unclear if it will remain closed today. Metro is contacting McDonald’s for a statement and further details.
One resident posted on Facebook: ‘Thoughts with all the family of the person involved last night at Mcdonalds on the Eccleshall road.
‘Thoughts also to to the staff there who were extremely upset.’
An ambulance service spokesperson said: ‘We were called to reports of a medical emergency.
‘Crews arrived to find a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support.
‘Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene a short time later.’
Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A statement from Staffordshire Police said: ‘We were called at 7.10pm last night (Monday 17 November) to reports of a man in cardiac arrest at McDonald’s on Eccleshall Road, Stafford.
‘Sadly, the man died at the scene. We are not treating the man’s death as suspicious and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.’
