Beloved TikTok star Girlalala, whose real name was Maurice Harrison, passed away on November 14. She was 21. Multiple outlets have reported the news of her passing, and there is an investigation into her death as it is believed her partner murdered her.Â

Girlalala worked as a hairstylist in Pompano Beach, Florida. The Broward Sheriffâs Office in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, responded to a medical call at 7 p.m., a statement on the Sheriff departmentâs website reads, People reports. Authorities attended a scene where they found âan individual in the front passenger seat of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.â She was later pronounced dead.Â
Her partner, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., with whom she was in a relationship for âseveral years,â has been arrested.Â
After the tragic news of Girlalalaâs passing, tributes have poured in. Rapper JT is among those who paid tribute to the late social media influencer. JT posed a clip on Instagram and wrote a heartfelt tribute in the caption. âRest beautiful girlala! We love you & Heaven will never be boring now that you are there, your boldness, energy, humor & beauty will be missed!â the caption reads.
It continues, âYou never missed a chance to show me love & for that I’m forever grateful. I’m sorry this happened to you! We have to stop thinking things are funny because of the way the story is told! If you see content about DV don’t laugh because it’s a trans or black woman. We have a way of laughing through our pain because we have been shaped to be taken as jokes!â

The comment section of JTâs post has been flooded with condolences and loving messages in memory of Girlalala. âThank you for loving and embracing Lala. You really changed her life and gave her hope,â a comment reads.Â

There is also a GoFundMe page that has been created to help fund Girlalala’s funeral arrangements. “To contribute to arrangements for Maurice J. Harrison aka ‘Girlalala,’ you may do so here. As a family we appreciate every prayer, kind thought, and gesture during our time of bereavement,” the statement on the page reads. “Once we finalize arrangements we will also share how you can contribute to the funeral home directly also. Thank you.”
The initial goal was to raise $25,000 but the target has been surpassed and is currently over $28,000.
