Jesse Love Opens Up About His Father in NASCAR’s New Docuseries RISING

NASCAR’s new docuseries RISING launched on November 17, 2025, on its official YouTube channel, and it gives fans a rare look into the lives of three young drivers trying to climb to the top. The five-episode series, produced with Words + Pictures, follows Carson Hocevar in the Cup Series, Jesse Love in the Xfinity Series, and Rajah Caruth in the Truck Series.

Episodes run daily through November 21, and each one shows real race weekends, real emotions, and the challenges that come with trying to make it in NASCAR. While the show covers all three drivers equally, one of the standout moments centers on Jesse Love and the relationship he has with his father.

What Jesse Love Said About His Father

In the debut episode of RISING, he explains how his dad used tough methods to make him better.

“My dad told me this a few years ago. He was like, if I knew we’re going to a weekend and we, like, had an advantage on the field, like, we have fresh motor, good tires, and new shocks and springs and whatnot. He was like, I would make your car plow or make your car super loose, to make you, like, work at it and not go out there and learn nothing and lead every lap.”

Love then makes it clear how much his father means to him, not just as a coach, but as the reason he races at all:

“Special person in my life. We think through a lot together, and he just sacrificed a lot for me, but his life was old; the reason I want to do this.”

That honesty is part of what sets RISING apart. It shows racing beyond the stats and trophies. It shows the people who make it possible.

Jesse Love is only 20 years old, but he’s already the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. Born January 14, 2005, in Menlo Park, California, he grew up in a racing family. His dad, Jesshill Love, helped guide Jesse from the time he was a child. Love began racing at five years old, collecting titles in the Quarter Midgets of America Series and later in the Bay Cities Racing Association.

The Bigger Picture of RISING

The series also spends time with the other two drivers. Carson Hocevar, age 22, is racing full-time in the Cup Series for Spire Motorsports after working his way up through the lower divisions.

Rajah Caruth, age 23, is showcased through his journey in the Truck Series, bringing more representation and a different path to the sport.

Each episode blends on-track footage with personal and behind-the-scenes moments, team meetings, travel days, and quiet family conversations. It also features sponsorships such as Menards and Whelen on Love’s car, while highlighting his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 28, 2025.

Just like previous NASCAR-driven digital projects, this series remains grounded in facts and real footage, offering fans a genuine look at how young drivers face pressure, learn valuable lessons, and carry the weight of their dreams, with family often playing a bigger role than people realize.
