DUBLIN — Police here have arrested a man for allegedly exposing himself to a janitor in his neighborhood, after the woman either rebuffed or ignored his repeated sexual advancements, authorities said.
Mahesh Hingorani, 59, of Dublin, was charged with a single misdemeanor count of indecent exposure for allegedly masturbating in front of the woman as she attempted to clean the community center bathroom in a Dublin subdivision. Hingorani is set to be arraigned on Friday and has been released from jail, court records show.
The woman reported to police that Hingorani asked for her number in early October, claiming he wanted to hire her for some janitorial side work, but then began texting her “romantic statements” that made her feel “uncomfortable and unsafe,” Dublin police said in court filings. He started watching her clean, occasionally staring at her buttocks, and told her he was “crazy” about her, authorities said.
Finally, on Oct. 29, the woman went into the community center bathroom to clean it and found Hingorani “waiting for her” and masturbating, police said in court filings. He allegedly told her to come to him. She called police.
Hingorani was arrested but “denied any involvement in the incident,” police said in court filings. Prosecutors charged him with the single misdemeanor on Halloween.
