Rumours have been flying about Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams relationship status after it was revealed the famous couple ‘split their business ventures’ in a shocking move.
Spencer, 37, recently split from his agent at Money Management and joined YMU, who represents celebs like Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman, and Davina McCall, according to The Daily Mail.
The TV personality arrived in Cape Town to kick off Project Se7ven on November 13, an underaking in which he aims to complete seven triathlons across seven continents in just 23 days.
Meanwhile, Vogue, 40, is a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, appearing on the show as the latecomer who arrives in camp a day or two after everyone else.
Spencer’s new venture is set to wrap up on December 6, the day before I’m A Celeb ends, meaning he won’t be there to greet Vogue at the end of the show’s famous bridge when her time in the jungle wraps up.
Some have wondered why Spencer would choose to undertake the challenge while Vogue is on I’m A Celeb, making him unable to support his wife during the show. As a result, many have speculated about the state of the couple’s relationship.
Now, Vogue has addressed the rumours On her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, revealing to co-host Joanne McNally that she’s heard the speculation about her marriage.
Jokingly accusing Joanne of being the mystery informant behind the swirling rumours, Vogue suggested the gossip has been caused by Spencer’s absence in photographs from her ‘girls’ weekend’ at the Glen Affric Estate in the Scottish Highlands.
She told Joanna of the rumour: ‘It said, “Spencer and Vogue are headed for a breakup because they’re spending so much time apart.” And I could only assume it was because he wasn’t in my content for Affric, because he came up on the Saturday. But I’m like, maybe it’s because he’s going away as well on his thing for three weeks..’
She went on to share her frustration with the unfounded gossip, saying: ‘But I’m like, can we not spend, like, any time apart? Do we have to be sewn together now to show that we’re a united front.’
When news of the couple’s business split broke, a source told The Daily Mail: ‘This separation is staggering and very telling at the same time. They did everything together and then boom, that’s it, Spencer goes at it alone.
‘Going into the jungle is massive for Vogue, she’s leaving her three beloved kids behind. Spencer is also going off and won’t be there to meet her at the end of the bridge.
‘The whole thing is very strange. It certainly draws a line in the sand when it comes to their careers – they are now undeniably separate.’
The sources continued, referencing Spencer’s latest triathlon undertaking: ‘Project Se7en is for charity, yet he has had to do it without the support of any big broadcaster,’ says my source. There could be further problems ahead for Spencer. To put it mildly, he has antagonised his former representatives at Money Management, who have, I’m told, been ‘extremely loyal’ and ‘fought many fires on his behalf’.
Despite their professional lives taking different directions, according to Vogue, their marriage remains strong.
