If you didn’t watch the first series, you sorely missed out. But not to worry, as the second season of Squid Game: The Challenge just dropped. For the uninitiated, the show is inspired by the hit TV series Squid Game. But in this version, real-life contestants battle it out in a series of high-stakes (but not deadly) kids’ games to win a $4.56 million cash prize. Last Samurai Standing is based on the novel of the same name by Shogo Imamura. Set in the 19th century, during the Meiji era, it follows 292 fighters as they assemble at a Kyoto Temple at sunset, all with one goal in mind: to win a grand prize of ¥100,000. But it won’t be easy, as the fighters are required to take each other’s wooden tags and make it to Tokyo.
