Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers questionable for Bears game

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was limited in practice Friday and was ruled questionable fore Sunday’s game against the Bears by coach Mike Tomlin.

“We’ll see where the weekend leads us,” he told reporters in Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon.

Rodgers has practiced in a limited fashion the past two days with a brace on the left wrist he broke Sunday against the Bengals. He’s able to grip a football with the brace on.

Both Rodgers and Tomlin said this week that functionality would be essential to the decision of whether or not to play Rodgers. If he can protect himself and take a snap, the Steelers plan to play him. Neither coach nor player was worried about Rodgers’ pain tolerance.

Rodgers has had Sunday’s game circled since before he signed with the Steelers. Rodgers has long enjoyed the Packers-Bears rivalry — he’s gone 25-5 — and has cherished playing at Soldier Field. Sunday might be his last opportunity to do so.
