With a big-time AFC matchup coming in Week 12 against the red-hot Patriots, help is on the way for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals’ TE Mike Gesicki Activated for Week 12
GettyCincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki activated to active roster ahead of Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots.
The news comes from the official Cincinnati Bengals website:
“Activated TE Mike Gesicki to the roster from the Reserve/Injured list. Gesicki, who was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Oct. 15 with a pectoral injury, was designated for return and cleared to practice on Wednesday.”
As pointed out by Yahoo! Sports, Gesicki is listed as questionable for Sunday, though it appears likely the tight end will be making his return.
Even without the injury, Gesicki is having a down year. Before his pectoral injury, he had only 8 catches for 61 yards and no touchdowns. He has never been a box-score stuffing player. However, in his only other season with the Bengals, he had 65 receptions for 665 yards.
Regardless, this is good news for Cincinnati. A Joe Burrow return is also right around the corner, and a playmaker returning along with him can only help.
The news only gets better considering the Bengals will be without Ja’Marr Chase on Sunday. Chase is serving a one-game suspension for on-field actions directed at Jalen Ramsey last week against the Steelers.
Mike Gesicki Opens Up About Injury
Mike Gesicki got honest about his pectoral injury suffered on October 12th, 2025.
Per a report from Sports Illustrated, Gesicki talked with reporters about the injury.
“I thought my season was done. I’m grateful for our trainers. There’s still work to be done and healing to be done.
“Initially I thought I was going to have to get surgery. It was an option and the other option was to let it heal. I wanted to hold onto some hope to come back and play football. It’s been a process, but it’s been good.”
Bengals TE Mike Gesicki on his pectoral injury
This will be the tight end’s first NFL action in over a month, as he missed four games with the ailment. As also pointed out by Sports Illustrated, Gesicki was injured in Joe Flacco’s Bengals debut against the Packers. Meaning, if it’s Flacco and not Burrow on Snuday, Gesicki will look to catch his first pass from the veteran signal caller.
Cincinnati could be a lot closer to full strength on Sunday. They will, however be without Ja’Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson. The return of Joe Burrow and Mike Gesicki, though, would certainly be appreciated.
They are hoping these returns matter, though. Per The Athletic‘s playoff simulator, Cincinnati has a <1% chance to make the post-season. Essentially, Cincinnati virtually needs to win out and get some help.
Their 34-12 loss in Pittsburgh last week was anything but the final nail in the coffin. The Ravens also keep winning, putting the AFC North division crown out of reach.
The Bengals need a lot of help if they want to be in the dance, and a Joe Burrow and Mike Gesicki return only helps.
