Andy Reid Sends Strong Message to Chiefs Fans After Huge Win Over Colts

The Kansas City Chiefs have proven to be as resilient as ever during the 2025 NFL season, even though everyone seems ready to declare their dynasty over. Patrick Mahomes and company were able to get the best of a very good Indianapolis Colts team in overtime on Sunday, resulting in the team’s sixth win.

After getting outplayed by Daniel Jones’ squad through three quarters, the Chiefs were able to turn it on in the fourth quarter to force overtime. A game-winning field goal by kicker Harrison Butker from 27 yards out proved to be the difference, improving Kansas City’s record to 6-5 on the season.

Andy Reid’s Message for Chiefs Fans

After the thrilling overtime win at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media during his postgame press conference. He felt compelled to give the fans of the storied franchise some credit for their support.

“Appreciate the fans,” Reid said. “They were phenomenal this afternoon. Loud, which was important, especially down the stretch there. There was still some blue up there, but they just drowned them out, which was great.”

There’s no doubt that the Chiefs have one of the most passionate fan bases in the NFL, which gives the team an incredible home-field advantage, which obviously played a significant role in the overtime win against the Colts.

This was a much-needed win for the Chiefs after dropping their last two games to Josh Allen‘s Buffalo Bills and the division rival Denver Broncos, who currently lead the way in the AFC West and are likely to win the division title.

Chiefs Face Tough Final Stretch of Season

With the Chiefs being in third place in the AFC West behind the Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City winning the division title seems out of the question, with the team sporting a record of 6-5 after Week 12’s win against the Colts.

That said, there’s not much margin for error for Mahomes and company moving forward, as they’ll need every win they can get with hopes of being able to clinch a playoff spot in the AFC.

However, it will be a challenge, to say the least, for the Chiefs as they face a tough schedule in the final stretch of the 2025 campaign, which began against the Colts on Sunday.

In Week 13, the Chiefs will face the high-powered offense of the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day on a short week. The next matchup will be a game against the frisky Houston Texans (Week 14), followed by the Chargers (Week 15), on the road against the Tennessee Titans (Week 16), the Broncos (Week 17) and will finish the regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders (Week 18).

There are a couple of games in there that the Chiefs will almost certainly be favored and expected to win, with those matchups being against the Titans and the Raiders. Still, the rest of the way will be challenging against potential playoff teams (Cowboys, Texans, Chargers and Broncos) that could determine whether Reid’s squad will be postseason bound.
