Keith Urban fan claims musician hinted at Nicole Kidman divorce weeks before split
A Keith Urban superfan has claimed the Grammy-winning musician hinted at his divorce from Nicole Kidman weeks before it was public knowledge. And before Kidman had even filed. Whiteside reportedly told Urban that he regularly gets mistaken for the musician due to his blonde, distinctive hairstyle and similar facial features. The fan revealed that he most recently got ‘recognised’ at a music festival when a couple approached him, thinking he was Urban. Whiteside claimed that Urban said: ‘Next time, it’ll probably be just the tattoos’ that’ll help people differentiate them from each other. The fan reportedly had no idea what the singer meant by the comment until news of the divorce became public. The media disclosed that papers — where Kidman cited irreconcilable differences — were served 15 days later, on September 30, in Nashville, Tennessee, where the former couple own a mansion. However, when the news broke of Urban and Kidman’s divorce, it was also revealed that they had been living apart since the summer. Following the public divorce announcement, a source told People magazine that Kidman didn’t actually want the split and was ‘fighting to save the marriage.’ The former couple share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, who will now have to adhere to new living arrangements due to the custody agreement. In court documents obtained by the Daily Mail and signed by Kidman and Urban, they agreed that Sunday and Faith will spend 306 days of the year in their mother’s custody. Urban and Kidman tied the knot in June 2006 in Sydney, Australia, one month after announcing their engagement. They first met in January 2005 at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles, an event that celebrates Australians in Hollywood.
