Sigma Performance Services Racing, known as SPS Racing, has taken full control of AM Racing in a deal announced on November 24, 2025, in Statesville, North Carolina. The move brings AM Racing’s full operations under the SPS Racing banner, starting with the 2026 season.
It also brings new support from Ford Racing, which plans to help with data, engineering, and vehicle improvement. Both sides describe the move as a step meant to grow the team without losing what AM Racing has built over the years. Work on the transition is already happening, with the first big target set for early January 2026 at the ARCA Menards Series practice at Daytona International Speedway.
Expanded Programs for 2026
The combined team will compete across several racing levels. This includes the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, which most fans know as the Xfinity Series. It also includes the ARCA Menards Series and a wider range of late model racing.

SPS Racing plans to use these programs to help young racers gain experience and to push new engineering ideas. The team wants each level to support the next, creating a smoother path from local racing to national events.
Team owner Joe Farré says the merger is part of a plan to grow while keeping the group strong from top to bottom. “Bringing AM Racing into the SPS Racing family is about building on momentum and unlocking our next level potential,” he said. Farré also pointed to the new help from Ford. “With Ford Racing behind us, we’re investing in people, data, and performance to set us up to contend right away in 2026. We’re excited for what’s ahead.”
His remarks focus on building a group that can compete as soon as the next season begins.
AM Racing’s Values Remain in Place
AM Racing was started by Tim Self and later guided by team president Wade Moore. For years, the team built a name around steady work, responsibility, and helping racers grow. Moore shared that the merger fits the team’s long-held values. “AM Racing has always been about work ethic, integrity, and giving racers a real shot to grow, and SPS Racing shares that DNA,” he said. Moore added, “This transition ensures our mission continues, with renewed strength, expanded resources and a clear drive to win.”
The move allows AM Racing’s history and style to remain part of the bigger structure. SPS Racing plans to keep the same focus on honest work and clear strategy while adding more tools and support.
What Comes Next for the New Group
More announcements are expected soon. These updates will include which drivers are signed, what cars each series will use, which staff members will take key roles, and which sponsors will join the team.
SPS Racing already has a strong base, built by Farré around high execution both on the track and behind the scenes. AM Racing’s background in national stock-car events will now blend with SPS Racing’s systems.
Working with Ford gives the team more technical reach, which can make a difference during long seasons. The combined group is looking to boost driver development and sharpen its engineering work as the 2026 season gets closer.
