The Lincoln Avenue Bridge in Altadena has reopened, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger announced Friday, Nov. 21.
The bridge had been closed since May and had been placed under a seven-ton load restriction after the Eaton fire when inspections found new cracking, delamination and spalling at both ends of the arch. The bridge connects West Altadena Drive and West Palm Street.
“Lincoln Avenue Bridge is key connector along the Lincoln Avenue corridor,” Barger said in a statement. “Reopening it means Altadena residents will have easier access to Loma Alta Park and nearby neighborhoods. It’s a big deal.”

LA County Public Works began in August and completed work on the temporary bridge. Work on a permanent, long-term replacement bridge, which will include community engagement, will begin, but no timeline has been announced.
“I’m glad Public Works moved this emergency project along as quickly as possible,” Barger said. “By opening Lincoln Avenue Bridge, we ensure that residents, first responders, and visitors can travel safely through the corridor as the holidays begin.”
