NFL Analyst Drops Jaw-Dropping Jaxon Smith-Njigba Take After Seahawks Win

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is officially in “JSN to the HOF” territory.

During a recent Pro Football Talk conversation, Mike Florio dropped the “JSN to the HOF” line and called the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver “the man” and “first-team All-Pro, period” as he continues a historic 2025 season in Seattle. The bold takes came as part of a five words or less segment.

Smith-Njigba just ripped the Tennessee Titans for eight catches and 167 yards in the Seahawks’ 30-24 road win, pushing Seattle to 8-3 and cementing his status as the focal point of the offense.

With 80 catches for 1,313 yards and seven touchdowns through 11 games, the 23-year-old leads the NFL in receiving yards and is tied for the league lead in receptions.

Analyst Drops ‘JSN to the HOF’ Line Amid Historic Season

The PFT discussion started as a breakdown of Seattle’s win in Tennessee, but it quickly turned into a full-on JSN appreciation segment. One voice on the show said their five-words-or-less takeaway was simple: “JSN to the HOF.” Another followed by saying Smith-Njigba is “the man” and “first-team All-Pro, period,” while calling this year a “changing of the guard” moment at wide receiver, away from stars like Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase and toward JSN.

The hype isn’t coming out of nowhere. Smith-Njigba just broke the Seahawks’ single-season franchise record for receiving yards, passing DK Metcalf’s 2020 mark — and he did it in his 11th game of the year.

Multiple outlets have noted that Smith-Njigba is now on pace to become the first player in NFL history to top 2,000 receiving yards in a season, putting him ahead of the pace Calvin Johnson set during his record 1,964-yard campaign in 2012.

According to ESPN, his 1,313 yards in 11 games give him a massive lead over the rest of the league’s receivers.

What JSN’s Breakout Means for the Seahawks Offense

This is no longer the Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf show with a promising young third option. Smith-Njigba has become the clear No. 1, and Seattle is building its passing game around him.

Sam Darnold bounced back from a rough outing against the Los Angeles Rams by throwing for 244 yards and two touchdowns in Tennessee, repeatedly turning to JSN in high-leverage moments.

Defenses now have to pick their poison: roll coverage toward Smith-Njigba and risk Rashid Shaheed winning one-on-one outside, or play JSN straight up and watch him win with route running, body control and yards after the catch.

Advanced numbers back up what the PFT crew was seeing. The Seahawks say Smith-Njigba is averaging 4.6 yards per route run this year, the best mark in the NFL by more than a yard and the top single-season figure since Next Gen Stats began tracking the metric in 2016.

If he keeps anything close to this pace, JSN is not just an All-Pro candidate — he’s squarely in the Offensive Player of the Year conversation.

Stats, Schedule & Context for Seahawks’ New Superstar

Through 11 games of the 2025 season:

  • Receptions: 80 (tied for first in the NFL)
  • Receiving yards: 1,313 (leads NFL)
  • Touchdowns: 7
  • Yards per catch: 16.4

Seattle’s win in Tennessee pushed the Seahawks to 8-3 and kept them firmly in the NFC playoff picture as they chase both a division title and a high seed.

Several recent breakdowns have pointed out that Smith-Njigba hasn’t had a game under 79 receiving yards this season, underscoring just how consistent his dominance has been during this run.

If the “JSN to the HOF” talk is early, the “JSN to first-team All-Pro and a 2,000-yard season” talk absolutely is not — that’s the pace he’s on right now, and the rest of the NFL is scrambling to catch up.
