Tyreek Hill’s agent gives update on his future in Miami

Tyreek Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, spoke with Miami sportscaster Josh Moser and said he “has not talked to the Dolphins about a 2026 return. That will happen after the season.”

His future in Miami is in question following his Week 4 injury on Monday Night Football in which he dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL.

Rosenhaus also stated that Hill’s rehab is “on schedule.” This comes after he had previously stated that the realistic goal was for Tyreek Hill to be ready for the start of the 2026 season. However, for which team that will be remains undetermined.

Tyreek Hill’s Comments

The Miami Dolphins wide receiver has been cryptic regarding the situation. On November 7 Hill called out Miami Herald columnist Omar Kelly for saying that Tyreek Hill will be cut for cap space after the year.

However, shortly after, Hill changed his Instagram bio to “unemployed.” Whether this was a troll job, poking fun at former Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison who changed his bio to unemployed after he was fired by the team, or whether there’s some truth to what Hill is saying is yet to be seen.

He’s currently under contract with the Dolphins for the 2026 season, however, he’d carry a $51 million cap hit for the team. The Dolphins have a potential out in his contract after the year, which is why his future had been in question even prior to his season-ending injury.

This would likely mean in order for Hill to remain a Dolphin, he’d have to restructure his contract. Hill’s agent stating that he hasn’t spoken to the Dolphins makes this seem less likely.

Tyreek Hill’s Tenure in Miami

The Miami Dolphins acquired Tyreek Hill prior to the 2022 season as they completed a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs to acquire his services. Hill was on the trading block as he sought a new extension and exceeded the price tag the Chiefs were willing to pay him. Upon his arrival in Miami he quickly signed a four-year, $120 million deal that made him the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

His first two years marked individual success for Hill as he posted the two best statistical seasons of his career and earned two first-team All-Pro selections. Following those two seasons he restructured his contract with the Dolphins in order to obtain more guaranteed money and remain one of the highest paid wide receivers in the NFL. This new contract didn’t add any additional years to his pre-existing contract which had an out after 2026.

Following this restructured deal, Hill had his worst statistical season as a member of the Dolphins. He failed to eclipse 1,000 yards for the first time since his injury-riddled 2019 season with the Chiefs. Before his devastating injury, it was looking like a return to form might be in fashion for Hill in 2025 as he was on a better statistical pace.

He never reached team success in Miami as they went 0-2 in the playoff games he participated in. Meanwhile the Chiefs, his former team, won two Super Bowls while making three and eliminated Hill’s Dolphins in the 2023 playoffs.

What the future holds for a wide receiver coming off several major ligament tears and who will be 32 at the beginning of next season is yet to be determined. His place in the Hall of Fame is likely secure as he’s already an eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro selection.
