Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are taking the field for an afternoon game on Thanksgiving — which means he could miss out on one of Taylor Swift’s famous dishes.
Swift earned some praise from future sister-in-law Kylie Kelce this week, who said the pop superstar is a mean cook with a couple of famous recipes. Kylie Kelce hinted that Swift will be making them for the upcoming holiday.
Taylor Swift’s Culinary Skills Praised
In an appearance on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Tuesday, Kylie Kelce shared that Swift is among the talented bakers across the Kelce family.
“We do have some well-known bakers in the family,” said the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce. “Taylor makes a banging sourdough loaf. I mean, it’s so good. And pop-tarts.”
Swift has spoken about her dishes before, saying in an appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast that she was working on the sourdough recipe — and testing them out with Jason and Kylie’s daughters.
“Right now, we’re very deep in a sourdough obsession,” Swift said, via Us Weekly.
“This one I’ve been workshopping for the girls, because they love everything rainbow: Funfetti sourdough. … They love sprinkles,” Swift said. “We put sprinkles in everything when we hang out.”
While Kylie said she’ll be at home enjoying the cooking of her other talented family members, she did acknowledge all the hard work that goes into NFL games that day.
“You’re not really thinking about the thousand people that have to work that day to make sure that the broadcast happens, that the stadium opens, that there’s concessions happening,” she said. “All of those people are taking time away from their families on the holiday to make sure that everyone can enjoy this football game and sort of lean into the tradition, so shout-out to all the NFL families whose holidays are disrupted. … I’m sure that everyone will find time to celebrate and get together with their families the same way we have over the years.”
Jason Kelce Loves Taylor Swift’s Impact on the NFL
While Swift has stepped back from the spotlight a bit compared to the start of her relationship with Kelce, she is still wildly popular among fans and earned some praise for her impact on the NFL.
On the “New Heights” podcast this week, Jason Kelce praised how she has gotten new audiences to tune in to the sport.
“You just mentioned Taylor and how much she’s gotten girls into the sport and dads and daughters together,” the now-retired Eagles center said. “That’s one of the coolest things I get when people talk about Taylor and Travis and hearing from dads or hearing from daughters about that.”
Fans hoping to see Swift on Thanksgiving Day may not be in luck, however. The Chiefs are traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys, but Swift has skipped all of Kansas City’s away games for the last two seasons, with reports that she is concerned about security away from Arrowhead Stadium.
