Photos: Oakland Zoo’s “Glowfari” lantern festival draws thousands
Oakland Zoo’s “Glowfari” lantern festival kicked off on Nov. 7 and has already drawn thousands to the popular annual event.
New this year is the “Future of Oakland” exhibit, a centerpiece that features illuminated versions of Oakland landmarks such as the Fox Theater, Tribune Tower and Chabot Space & Science Center, to promote the theme of coexistence between wildlife and the city.
There are five exhibits spread throughout the zoo, including “Bug World,” “Reptile Planet,” “African Savanna” and “Coral Reef.” Each lantern tells a story about wildlife’s ongoing journey, the importance of each species on our planet, and the Oakland Zoo’s commitment to conservation.
The event runs through Jan. 25 and you can find more info and buy tickets here.
