Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Leandro Trossard after the forward was forced off in the first half of Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich.
Trossard went down towards the end of the first half and had to be replaced by Noni Madueke before the break.
The Belgian has proved himself a key and underated player in Arteta’s side so far this season, scoring five goals in 15 appearances in all competitions.
However, he may now be a doubt for Sunday’s key Premier League clash with Chelsea, who sit second and six points behind Arsenal.
Asked for an update on Trossard post-match, Arteta said: ‘With Leo, we don’t know. He said he felt something, so we didn’t want to take any risks’

An injury to Trossard was perhaps the only blemish on what was another superb result for Arsenal, who extend their perfect record in Europe to move top of the Champions League table after five games.
Jurrien Timber opened the scoring when he flicked home Bukayo Saka’s corner at the near post, but Bayern hit back ten minutes later when Lennart Karl finished off a superbly worked team goal from the visitors.
However, Arsenal only got stronger as the game wore on, and went back ahead after the break when Madueke bundled home Riccardo Calafiori’s cross at the back post.
And making his return to the team after an injury layoff, Gabriel Martinelli rounded Manuel Neuer deep in Bayern’s half before slotting into an empty net to give Arsenal a deserved third as they eased to victory.
Asked about his side’s performance, Arteta added: ‘Individually, we were immense. After yesterday, they know how hard they work to prepare for every single game.

Jurrien Timber excels again
Gary Neville recently lauded Timber as one of the best full-backs in the world, and it’s easy to see why. Got Arsenal’s opener and was superb in all aspects of the game, it’s no coincidence that Michael Olise’s assist for the opening goal came after he drifted over he opposite flank.
Bukayo Saka singled out
The Arsenal forward provided the assist for Timber’s opener, but in open play, found himself man-marked to within an inch of his life by several Bayern players. A reflection of his talent, no doubt, but a problem he will have to learn to deal with on a more than regular basis.
Tricky night for Myles Lewis-Skelly
Lewis-Skelly will need to do far more than this if he is to force his way back ahead of Riccardo Calafiori at left-back. The 19-year-old struggled against Olise when he moved to the left flank and completed just seven of his 12 passes before making way in the 68th minute.
Arsenal match ratings: Raya 7, Timber 9, Saliba 7, Mosquera 7, Lewis-Skelly 6, Rice 8, Zubimendi 7, Eze 6, Saka 7, Trossard 6, Merino 7. Subs: Martinelli 7, Calafiori 7, White N/A, Odegaard N/A.
Lennart Karl, remember the name
Harry Kane had talked up the talents of 17-year-old Karl pre-match, and the German certainly delivered on the hype. Deployed in the No10 role, the teenager was a hive of energy and rounded off a superb Bayern move for their first goal.
Harry Kane quiet on Emirates return
Kane won’t be the last striker to enjoy a quiet night up against this Arsenal backline. At times, the England captain was most involved when he was forced to track back well into his side’s half to stop Saka getting on the ball.
A reminder that Arsenal are still yet to concede at home in the group/league phase of the Champions League since returning under Arteta in the 2023–24 season.
Bayern Munich match ratings: Neuer 5, Laimer 6, Tah 6, Upamecano 5, Stanisic 6, Kimmich 6, Pavlovic 6, Olise 7, Karl 7, Gnabry 5, Kane 5. Subs: Bischof 6, Jackson 5, Goretzka N/A, Guerreiro N/A, Kim N/A.
‘Today is another massive victory, now we go home, have a nice dinner and go to Stamford Bridge.
‘They are a top side, I think they’ve not lost in 20 plus games. We did that, it’s great, I am very pleased as well.’
Meanwhile, Bayern captain Harry Kane urged his side not to panic and instead take the learnings from their first defeat in all competitions this season.
‘It was a tough game which is kind of what we expected. It was a good battle in the first half which was fairly even,’ he told TNT Sports.
‘Second half we didn’t quite have the same energy or intensity and we lost too many duels. It’s our first loss of the season. We don’t’ want to panic too much about it. But we will learn about it for sure.
‘They won the first and second balls. Set pieces, we knew they would be dangerous. I’m sure we’ll see them [Arsenal] again in the later stages of the Champions League.
‘They defended man for man pretty much all over the pitch. As I said, I don’t think it’s time to panic. We have played Chelsea, and Paris St-Germain and Arsenal away. We have won the majority of our games.’
