Travis Kelce may be a three-time Super Bowl champion and one of the biggest names in the NFL, but some of his food habits are surprisingly relatable. On a recent episode of his podcast âNew Heights,â the Kansas City Chiefs tight end opened up about the lunch staple he still reaches for more than anything else â and yes, you probably have it in your freezer right now. Kelce also revealed why he favors the unexpected snack and shared more about his pre-game food routine and Thanksgiving food opinions alongside his brother, Jason Kelce. Hereâs what he said.
Travis Kelce Reveals His Go-To Snack
When Jason asked his brother what school lunch he loved growing up, he brought up childhood favorites like pizza, bagels, and chicken nuggets.
Then Travis admitted thereâs one food that has stood the test of time.
âHave we talked about this already? I eat an Uncrustables probably more than I eat anything else in the world,â Travis said.
Jason agreed, pointing out that peanut butter and jelly have always been a go-to lunch option for him as well. âIâm going back to PB&J â that was the one we had the most,â Jason said. âItâs so complete as a sandwich.â
So yes, the Chiefs’ tight end responsible for some of the biggest moments on the field is still stocking up on frozen PB&J sandwiches. Fans also learned it lines up perfectly with his pre-game choice â French toast with strawberries â which Travis has mentioned in past interviews. He explained that the combination gives him the carbs and sugar rush he needs before kickoff.
And with the Chiefs headed into their Thanksgiving matchup, Kelce admitted heâs thrilled to play during the holiday for the first time in his 13-year career.
âIâm pumped,â he said via KSHB 41. âItâs my first time ever playing on Thanksgiving.â
Travis also pointed out how much it means for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
âWeâve got to win for him,â Kelce said. âYou canât go back home with any Ls, man.â
The Kelce Brothers Agree on This Thanksgiving Dish
The Uncrustables revelation wasnât the only food confession from âNew Heights.â The brothers also revealed which classic holiday dish they think is overrated.
Travis and Jason agreed with the caller that turkey is the âworstâ part of the Thanksgiving meal.
Jason said, âHard agree,â after a caller claimed turkey is dry and overrated. He added, âThis is why I fry a turkey. Itâs hard to eat turkey unless itâs deep-fried.â
Jason explained his family rarely served turkey growing up. âMom would make pork chops or some other meat,â he said. âIâm a big mashed potatoes guy. Iâm a big corn guy.â
He also praised his wife, Kylie, and their mom, Donna Kelce, for making standout dishes. âKylie makes a (expletive) green bean casserole,â Jason said. âMama Kelceâs dinner rollsâ¦everything else about Thanksgiving is fantastic.â
Travis chimed in with his own take on turkey prep: âYou gotta fry it, or you gotta be in that non-stop injecting it.â Jason cut in and joked, âYou gotta fry it, or you gotta (expletive) spatchcock that sucker.â
Both brothers agreed on one holiday twist they love: turducken. âThe premise of it sounds incredible,â Jason said.
