Ravens RB Derrick Henry Makes NFL History Against Bengals

In case you forgot, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is going to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day.

Henry took the Ravens’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Cincinnati Bengals as an opportunity to remind us he’s really that guy with a vintage, 28-yard touchdown run in the first half that put him in some elite company.

“King Henry just scored his 116th career touchdown,” the NFL wrote on its official X account after Henry’s touchdown run. “He joins LaDainian Tomlinson as the only players in NFL history with 10+ rush TDs in 8+ consecutive seasons.”

Henry wasn’t done there. He also passed Cleveland Browns running back and NFL legend Jim Brown to move up to No. 11 on the NFL’s career rushing list with 33 rushing yards in the first half.

There’s a good chance Henry could pass Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett (12,739 yards) and move into the NFL’s Top 10 career rushers by the end of the regular season.

Frustration Mounts With Ravens Offense

In an interesting, frustrating twist, after rushing for 33 yards on 5 carries in the first quarter and averaging 6.6 yards per carry, Henry didn’t see a single carry in the second quarter as the Ravens went into halftime trailing 12-7.

The Ravens turned the ball over 3 times in the first half. That was fumbles by quarterback Lamar Jackson and a fumble by tight end Isaiah Likely as he ran into the end zone for what looked like a touchdown.

Frustrations with the Ravens’ offense play calling boiled over on social media — mainly from degenerate gamblers who wanted to all point out how bad the Bengals defense is.

“Not betting related, but Cincinnati has the 2nd worst rush defense in the league and Derrick Henry sees 0 touches in the second quarter after scoring a TD in the first,” Profits Plus wrote on its official X account.

“Honestly the no mention of Derrick Henry (on NBC) not playing at all after that opening drive especially from sports analysts makes this very strange,” X user Frank Dallas wrote. “The worst rush defense, 5 carries 33 yards a td, and not a single snap yet.”

“Son if you don’t believe the NFL isn’t rigged please look me in my face and explain why Derrick Henry hasn’t touched the ball after a 30 yard (expletive) touchdown?” X user Gamer God wrote. “I (swear to God) I’ll never watch this (expletive) again in my life.”

Making Henry’s Case for Hall of Fame

While common sense tells us Henry should be in the Hall of Fame one day, the Pro Football Reference Hall of Fame Monitor tells a different story.

The HOFm uses a combination of “AV, Pro Bowls, All-Pros, championships, and various stat milestones,” to determine a player’s Hall of Fame potential and has Henry pretty low on its list — an average NFL running back in the Pro Football Hall of Fame sports an HOFm score of 107.0. Henry currently has a score of 59.17 with 6 games left in his 10th season.

Of the 23 Hall of Famer running backs ahead of Henry on the HOFm list, Henry has more carer rushing yards than 12 of them and more career rushing touchdowns (115) than 20 of them.
