Bay Area weather: Dangerous surf, coastal flooding warning

The National Weather Service is warning of potential beach hazards along the Bay Area coast through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

“Moderate to long period westerly swell will result in an increased risk for sneaker waves and strong rip currents,” the agency said in its forecast on Monday. It expects breaking waves of 10 to 14 feet.

Forecasters also issued a coastal flood advisory because of king tides through Sunday.
