Lauren Graham’s ‘Gilmore Girls’ Announcement

Graham—who played Lorelai Gilmore for all seven seasons—took to social media on Wednesday, December 3, to tease a new project in collaboration with show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

“Because we love you, Amy and I are working on a new Gilmore Girls book,” Graham captioned a series of photos with the creator via Instagram. “Get your coffee ready!”

Earlier that morning, the TODAY show shared the first details of the upcoming book.

“We can exclusively announce [that] an untitled book is in the works, taking the readers behind the scenes of the beloved series,” host Carson Daly shared during his PopStart segment on Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, the book will “offer an intimate, behind-the-scenes portrait of their creative partnership and the spark that defined Lorelai Gilmore and the world of Stars Hollow.”

The yet-untitled project will include “a blend of sharp wit, personal reflection and never-before-shared stories,” People reported.

“Along the way, they revisit unforgettable moments from the set — capturing the humor, heart and alchemy that has made the series an enduring classic,” the press release adds.

Fans Shared Their Excitement for the ‘Gilmore Girls’ Book

Fans of “Gilmore Girls”—which recently began airing reruns on Hallmark Channel—were thrilled by the news, as seen in the comments section of Graham’s post.

“A Gilmore Girls book??? Yayyyy this is so exciting Merry Christmas to all of us Gilmore Girls fans!!!” one follower wrote.

“Can’t wait!” another added.

Other fans, while thrilled, are begging the women to work on a new season or movie after the success of Netflix’s 2016 “Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life.”

“Just another 7 seasons would be fine,” another fan joked.

“Chanting: “Movie! Movie! Movie!” another agreed, as a third begged, “A new season on Netflix pleaseeee.”

In a statement shared in the press release, Graham added, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Amy to bring readers all our stories of the special years we spent filming Gilmore Girls, the first and second time!”

“I will jump at any chance to collaborate with Lauren Graham,” Sherman-Palladino added. “On anything. Be it a boozy broads’ lunch at Joe Allen’s, or writing an actual book, the answer will always be ‘yes’. I find myself wanting to be permanently linked to her side forever. Not sure it’s healthy, for either of us, but it’s just the reality of the situation.”
