Fox News star Jessica Tarlov on The Five addressed the controversial shifting narratives from the Pentagon regarding the two September 2 military strikes on alleged “narco-terrorists” on a boat in the Caribbean and President Trump’s pardon of convicted drug trafficker and former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández. Tarlov put the two actions together, accusing the administration of hypocrisy concerning its anti-drug stance.
With the video below, Tarlov wrote: “Shifting the blame onto Admiral Bradley doesn’t change the facts. It’s a crime to kill the shipwrecked. And Trump’s ‘tough on drugs’ shtick is a joke. He pardoned the former Honduran president—the same guy his own administration prosecuted and who got 45 years.”
[NOTE: In Hernandez’s long letter to Trump asking for clemency, as Tarlov notes, he notably addressed Trump as “Your Excellency” and claimed they shared “conservative values.”]
Why dont they care as much about a dead nat guard member as they do alleged drug dealers? https://t.co/YXhvwtj3V5

Conservative Fox News star Tomi Lahren, co-host of The Big Weekend Show, replied on X: “Watching Democrats defend narco terrorists in real time is really something to behold.” (Lahren’s comment refers to Tarlov’s challenge on the legality of the Caribbean boat strikes, not to Trump’s pardon of the convicted trafficker.)
Tarlov replied to Lahren: “Watching Republicans not give a [expletive] about any laws is even more to behold. Though guess I shouldn’t be surprised!”
NewsNation star Chris Cuomo jumped into the conversation on X seeming, like Lahren, to question Democrat priorities. Cuomo wrote: “Why dont they care as much about a dead nat guard member as they do alleged drug dealers?”
Tarlov replied to Cuomo: “That was your takeaway? Also, we discussed the DC shooting in another segment where I argued we needed new vetting standards (without denaturalizing American citizens).”
Many X users backed Tarlov, including one describing himself as a “former Republican” who wrote: “She tweeted about the nat guard member too. But also, why such a cavalier attitude about any one man (ANY one man) being judge, jury, and executioner?”
Another commenter replied: “The killer of the national guardsman has been arrested and will face justice. What more do you want them to do? Both can be true. We can care about the national guardsmen and also be concerned about war crimes committed by our government. It’s not that hard.”
