A woman who was ejected from a car died on the scene after her car smashed into two vehicles including a semi truck early Monday in Avondale on the Northwest Side.
Two 31-year-old women were in a black car going west in the 3800 block of West Diversey Avenue around 1:30 a.m. when the driver lost control and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle before veering across the road and rear-ending a semi-truck going the opposite direction, Chicago police said.
The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver was taken to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was in good condition, officials said.
Citations were pending.
