Eagles Lineman Reveals ‘Classified’ Message from Lane Johnson Before Raiders Game

The Philadelphia Eagles may still be on top of the NFC East division heading into Week 15, but they are headed in the wrong direction. After losing their past three games, the Eagles’ record sits at 8-5, which has opened the door for the Dallas Cowboys to make a late push for the top spot in the division.

The good news for Philadelphia is that it has a get-right game against the Las Vegas Raiders on its schedule for Sunday. The Eagles will be without one of their most important players in right tackle Lane Johnson, though, which will thrust his backup, Fred Johnson, into action. Fred appears set to face a steady diet of Maxx Crosby in this game, which led to Lane giving him some insight on the relentless pass rusher ahead of this game.

Fred Johnson Refuses to Share Lane Johnson’s Maxx Crosby Insight

While Philly is still in a great position to go on a deep playoff run this year, things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for them through 13 games. After winning Super Bowl LIX last year, the Eagles appeared to have a great shot at repeating as champions in 2025. Things simply have not come together for them, though, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.

There have been a lot of things for fans to complain about. Injuries have hampered the offensive line, Jalen Hurts has struggled throwing the ball at times, and the Saquon Barkley-led rushing attack has come nowhere near the heights it reached last season. For an eight-win team, the Eagles have been a bit of a mess on offense this year.

Playing Las Vegas should allow Philadelphia’s offense an opportunity to put together a big game, even with Fred set to replace Lane. Both of these guys know just how dangerous Crosby can be for the Raiders, so Lane made an effort to watch his tape and give Fred some insight. However, Lane’s advice wasn’t something that Fred wanted to reveal to the public.

“That’s classified,” Fred said when asked about Lane’s advice for him. “He just gave me insightful advice. He’s a real leader, real guy that I look up to. He’s the shoes that I’ve got to fill, so it’s good to get advice from everyone whenever I can.”

Eagles Desperately Need to Get Back in the Win Column

If there’s a game that the Eagles need to win, it’s this one. Losing three games in a row is bad enough, but if this team were to somehow lose to a desolate Raiders squad that is set to be led by old friend Kenny Pickett, that would truly be a doomsday scenario. Philadelphia could use an opportunity to destroy its opponent, and it appears to have finally gotten that opportunity in Week 15.

Playing against Pickett could present some unique challenges for Philly, as it hasn’t seen what Las Vegas’ offense looks like with him under center, and he also has familiarity with its defense, having spent the 2024 season with the team. That shouldn’t prevent the Eagles from winning, though, as they should comfortably push their record to 9-5 when all is said and done. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
