Ex-Browns Lineman Quickly Finds New Home in AFC After Release

The Cleveland Browns waived offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger this week and he quickly found a new home.

The Titans claimed Dellinger off waivers on Tuesday, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. It’s his third team this season. He initially entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2025 draft. After being waived by Baltimore, Dellinger joined the Browns and his first game action was on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Dellinger entered the game after Teven Jenkins went down with an injury.

After waiving Dellinger, the Browns signed wide receiver Jamari Thrash, who was initially waived prior to the Bears matchup to make room for Dellinger on the roster.

Thrash was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of last year’s draft and finished his rookie season with just three catches for 22 yards. Despite the modest production, he stood out during the offseason and training camp, positioning himself to take on a meaningful role in Cleveland’s thin wide receiver corps.

Trash was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of last year’s draft and finished his rookie season with just three catches for 22 yards. Thrash has managed just 10 catches in nine games for 107 yards this season.

Browns Still Shorthanded on Offensive Line

Veteran guard Joel Bitonio is the only remaining starter from the team’s initial starting unit to open the year. Tackle Dawand Jones and center Ethan Pocic are out for the year. Guard Wyatt Teller and tackle Jack Conklin both missed the matchup against the Bears.

The Bears pressured Shedeur Sanders on 20 of his 42 dropbacks (48%), their highest pressure percentage in a game this season, per ESPN. Sanders has been pressured on 46% of his dropbacks this season.

The injuries on the offensive line have not made things easy for the Browns or Sanders. But Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski isn’t trying to use it as an excuse.

“We’re focused on trying to give our guys a game plan that we can go execute, play fast, and go find a way to score points,” Stefanski said. “And there’s gonna be varying factors to each one of those games, whether it’s the opponent, whether it’s guys that are available or unavailable. And we just got to do our jobs and give our guys a game plan to go let them play fast.”

Browns Have Little to Play for at 3-11

The Browns head into their Week 16 matchup with a 3-11 record and little to play for outside of draft positioning. But Stefanski is doing his best to keep the competitive spirit high in his locker room.

“Obviously we know what our record is. We understand that. We don’t hide from that. You own it,” Stefanski said. “But we also know how important this game is to us and the work that has to go into it each week and what we pour into it each week. The payoff is going out there on Sunday and playing and coaching. We get where we are not going to hide from that. But that’s not, part of what we do is going to compete, and that will never change.”

The Browns will welcome the Buffalo Bills to Huntington Bank Field on Sunday. Cleveland is a double-digit underdog for the matchup.
