Sources told <a href=”https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-news/rob-reiner-son-nick-holiday-party-alleged-murder-1235484433/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Rolling Stone</a> that Rob and Michele brought him along to “keep an eye on him.” At the party, Nick reportedly “<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/nick-reiner-was-acting-strangely-at-conan-obriens-holiday-party-the-night-before-rob-and-michele-reiners-murders.html/”>exhibited antisocial behavior,</a>” such as staring at guests and asking whether or not they were famous. </p>
<p id=”par-4_18″>Sources have reported that Rob had a “loud argument” with his son before the family left the party.</p>

<p id=”par-5_37″>Police arrested Nick on suspicion of murder on Sunday, Dec. 14. He has <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/nick-reiner-charged-death-penalty-murder-parents-rob-michele-reiner.html/”>since been charged</a> with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of using a deadly weapon in the deaths of his parents. </p>
<p id=”par-6_17″>The Reiners’ other two children, Jake and Romy, recently released a joint statement about their parents’ deaths.</p>
<p id=”par-7_55″>“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” they said in a statement, per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://abcnews.go.com/US/rob-reiners-children-speak-after-nick-reiners-arrest/story?id=128491146″ rel=”noreferrer noopener”>ABC News</a>. “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_17″>They thanked people for the outpouring of condolences and asked for both <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rob-reiner-murder-da-warns-rumors-homicide-case.html/”>privacy and compassion</a> moving forward.</p>
<p id=”par-9_63″>“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” they said. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_36″>If convicted, Nick faces life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. The latter is far less likely, though, as there is currently a moratorium on executions in the state of California.</p>

And I started punching out different things in my guest house,” he said on the <em>Dopey Podcast</em>. “I think I started with the TV, and I went over to the lamp. Everything in the guest house got wrecked.”</p>
