Trade Prediction Sends Eagles WR A.J. Brown to AFC West Doormat

For the last few years, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has complained to anyone who will listen about not getting the ball enough.

In 2026, there’s a good chance he will get the ball thrown to him as much as he wants.

Heavy.com’s Max Dible’s latest trade pitch for Brown sends him to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he would be the centerpiece for a massive rebuilding effort along with whatever quarterback the Raiders undoubtedly take in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft.

In Dible’s scenario, the Raiders get Brown in exchange for a 2026 second round pick — at the No. 33 overall pick in the second round it’s essentially a first round pick.

“If (the Raiders) need to throw in a sixth-rounder along with it, fine,” Dible said. “Vegas has Brock Bowers, who is likely to assume the mantle of best tight end in the NFL sooner than later. They also hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, which looks a lot like Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza as the CFP is about to begin. The two things the team must do is secure him a No. 1 wide receiver to complement Bowers and Jeanty, then spend whatever they need to in draft capital or salary cap funds to put a workable offensive line in front of the rookie. The Nos. 33 and 184 picks (currently) is a nice haul for Brown, who is under contract through 2029 on a $96 million extension he signed earlier this year.”

From Super Bowl MVP to Rookie Quarterback

If Brown is frustrated catching passes from Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, life catching passes from a rookie quarterback behind a porous offensive line might be a revelation.

The race for the No. 1 overall pick seems to be coming down to the Raiders, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, who selected quarterback Cam Ward No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL draft.

ESPN’s Field Yates has the Raiders selecting Oregon quarterback Dante Moore in his lates 2026 mock draft and, keep in mind, there’s also a good chance the Raiders fire head coach Pete Carroll after one season.

“Moore hasn’t made his intentions clear about declaring, but there’s little doubt he would go very high if does enter the 2026 draft,” Yates wrote. “And for the Raiders, it’s clear that Geno Smith is no longer a viable starter; he’s tied for the league lead in interceptions (14) and has the second-lowest QBR (32.5).”

Brown Has Worn Out Welcome in Philly

While it’s kind of understood the very best NFL wide receivers almost come with an understanding they’re going to act like divas at some point, Brown’s time as a locker room cancer in Philadelphia has likely come to an end after 2025.

It’s the second consecutive season Brown has complained about Hurts and the offense in the most passive aggressive, annoying way possible — on social media — and the act has truly worn thin.

Were it not for former center Jason Kelce deflecting all blame off Hurts during the disastrous 2023 season, we might have even more evidence of Brown’s selfishness.

Even with all of that, Brown still has a chance at 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive season and for the sixth time in 7 NFL seasons; he has 64 receptions for 840 yards and 7 touchdowns with 3 regular season games remaining.
