“I decided to go solo this year, a decision that turned the past few months into a tunnel vision, focus on improvement and being a better athlete in every aspect everyday,” she posted on social media according to the official Olympics website. “I received so many sweet messages, so here’s the update! I started working with my coach Kosta Poltavets again.”
She added, “Back to where I come from. The trainings are hard and challenging but that’s what my body needs. Half of the time I train with an international team named Novus. A great diverse team with a lot of staff members that I trust and believe in from the time I had my own skating team.”

Jutta Leerdam was born in ‘s-Gravenzande, Netherlands, on December 30, 1998. She’ll turn 27 years old at the end of 2025, so she’s pretty much a Christmas baby.
Leerdam started her athletics career playing field hockey as a kid before starting speed skating when she was 11 years old.
She Has Won World Championships
Leerdam isn’t just a champion. She’s been a world champion multiple times. She snagged her first world title at the 2019 World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships in a team, and she picked up her first solo world title in 2020 in the 1000m with a time of 1:11.84.
