Noon Year’s Eve party
The Friends of the Cupertino Library are sponsoring a Noon Year’s Eve Dance Party at the library for children of all ages and their families. The countdown to noon begins at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The Cupertino Library is closing at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and will be closed on New Year’s Day.
Kids’ book clubs
The Voyagers Book Club for third- and fourth-graders will meet Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2-3 p.m., at the Cupertino Library for a discussion of “Legendarios: The Beginning of All Things” by Karla Arenas Valenti, in which twins Emma and Martín fall into a mythic universe where nothing exists, not even a way home.
The Changemakers Book Club for first- and second-graders meeting Friday, Jan. 2, 2-3 p.m. to discuss “A to Z Animal Mysteries: The Emerald Egg” by Ron Roy and make a craft to take home.
Register in person at the children’s desk to pick up the books for both clubs.
Agriculture webinar
The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority will present an update on the progress of its Agricultural Strategic Plan during a Jan. 20 webinar hosted by the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce.
The authority is developing a strategy to define its role in supporting local agriculture. Anna Regalado, the authority’s agricultural specialist, will share information about the goals of the plan and how input from the public and important stakeholders—including farmers, farmworkers and ranchers—will influence the plan. A question-and-answer session will follow her presentation.
