“Wayne’s World” star Tia Carrere shared a touching tribute to the late director and actor Rob Reiner.
In a Monday, December 15 post shared to social media, the actress recalled meeting Reiner just a few months ago.
“Iâve been such a huge fan of yours for my whole life I just had to walk over and say hello at Comic Con a few months ago when we were doing our press for our projects,” she wrote. “You were so kind and so generous and so inspiring. We all mourn this incredible loss today. Absolutely heartbreaking.”
Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed on December 14 in their Brentwood, California, home.
The two had three children together: Jake, Nick, and Romy. Nick Reiner was arrested the same day the two were found, and he was charged with murder. He is being held without bail.
Reiner’s Children Release a Statement
Jake and Romy have sense released as statement after the tragedy.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” the siblings wrote. “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” it continued.
The two asked for privacy while they go through this difficult time.
Rob Reiner also had a daughter named Tracy, whom he adopted with his late ex-wife Penny Marshall. She gave a brief statement right after the news was announced.
“I came from the greatest family ever. I donât know what to say. Iâm in shock,” she said.
Tributes Pour In
Hollywood has been in mourning since the death of the Reiners. Their friends and colleagues have shared heartwarming and touching tributes to the two.
Demi Moore shared how her life was intertwined with the couple as they raised children together.
“There are no words to truly express the unfathomable devastation of losing Rob and Michelle Reiner. Our kids grew up together, we worked together, and as our lives intertwined personally and professionally I will always cherish the moments and memories of what we shared,” she wrote.
Meg Ryan, star of the Reiner film “When Harry Met Sally…,” shared how sad she was by the news.
“Oh how we will miss this man,” she began.
She continued, “Thank you, Rob and Michelle, for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter. Thank you for your faith in the best in people, and for your profound love of our country.”
