Victoria Beckham reached out to her son Brooklyn days before the 26-year-old blocked her and dad David on social media, sources say.

The fashion designer, 51, reportedly liked one of her eldest son’s Instagram posts, and in response was iced out from online communications by Brooklyn.

A source told Metro: ‘Victoria liked an Instagram post on Brooklyn’s page just days before he blocked her and David. There was no intention behind it other than to show she’s thinking of him before Christmas. She had no idea it would lead to this fallout.

‘She can’t understand why Brooklyn would make the decision to block her, David, and his brothers. Cruz and Romeo are just as hurt by it and it feels like Brooklyn has truly cut them out of his life.’

It comes after Cruz, 20, took to social media to dispute claims his parents had blocked his brother Brooklyn, in a moment that marked a further escalation of the family feud which rages on.

While Victoria and David have remained tight-lipped on the fallout, Cruz said in response to the rumours: ‘NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.’

Brooklyn now no longer follows any immediate family members, but does follow his grandparents, David’s mum and dad Ted and Sandra. He also follows his aunts, David’s sisters Lynne and Joanne.

From his mum’s side, Brooklyn follows his grandmother Jackie Adams, and Victoria’s sister Louise.

The move comes after it was reported that Brooklyn won’t be spending Christmas with his family this year, despite David recently sharing an olive branch to his son.

Ever since Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham married in 2022 and rumours began of tension between the model, 30, and former Spice Girl Victoria over the bride’s choice of dress.

Since, a divide has widened between the couple and the rest of the Beckhams, which was first publicly noticeable when Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend David’s big 50th bash earlier this year.

As months went on, further signs of the feud emerged, particularly when Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their wedding vows with her family – without any Beckhams present.

Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson Peltz officiated the ceremony, as the pair posted about their special day on social media.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘This was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria. Seeing Nelson having such a pivotal role at the ceremony was heartbreaking for David especially. Not one member of the 30-plus extended family knew about the wedding, or were invited.

The source added: ‘It feels cruel and spiteful. This is no longer a game. It has gone beyond all that. This is a family who feel they have lost their precious boy – and see no way back.’

Brooklyn also remained silent on Father’s Day and did not mention the former footballer’s knighthood on social media, but fueled further speculation when he later posted a heartfelt message for his father-in-law on his birthday.

While sources told Metro after David’s 50th Brooklyn was keen to patch things up with his family, they have since drifted further apart, with the aspiring chef even covering up a tattoo on his chest dedicated to his mum Victoria.

‘David and Victoria have always wanted the feud with Brooklyn to be resolved,’ a source told Metro in November, after another claimed Brooklyn and Nicola would put the feud to bed – but only with a public apology from David and Victoria.

‘They’d love to have him back in the picture but feel as if there are things to hash out in their relationship,’ the source continued.

‘They want to move forward as a family and could be open to hearing Brooklyn’s side of things.’

This came after a source told the Daily Mail that the young couple ‘did nothing that would have deserved this treatment’.

‘It is hard to understand the intensity and the escalation [of the media stories]. It seems that they thought they could heap abuse on Nicola without any consequence. They did not let up,’ they said.

‘There was a public trashing which kept on going. Someone should have told them to stop because it was not in their best interest to do this to their own son, but nobody did.’

The source went on to say that it ‘seemed as if things were being said without any regard being paid to the impact on Brooklyn’, who is ‘loyal to his wife’.

They continued: ‘There is an obvious first step which would be a public acknowledgement [by David and Victoria] of what they did, and an apology. It cannot be a performative thing. There is no realistic chance of a reconciliation without that happening first.’
