A former Nickelodeon child star has sparked concern after being spotted living unhoused on the streets of California. Tylor Chase, best known for his role as Martin Qwerly on âNedâs Declassified School Survival Guide,â was filmed in a video that has since circulated widely on TikTok and X.
The footage has prompted an outpouring of concern from fans and emotional reactions from former co-stars, many of whom say the situation is heartbreaking and deeply troubling.
Viral Video Shows Tylor Chase Living Unhoused
Chase, 36, was filmed in California by a TikToker who approached him on the street. In the video, he appeared disheveled and was seen holding up his jeans while wearing a worn Los Angeles Raiders polo shirt.
As per Sun, when asked whether he had appeared on Nickelodeon, Chase smiled.
âYeah, on Nedâs Declassified School Survival Guide,â he said.
Another viral video posted by TikToker Citlalli Wilson in September showed Chase living unhoused in Riverside, California. In that clip, Chase introduced himself on camera. âHello. My name is Tylor Chase. Iâm here on a Christian movement for acting.â
GoFundMe Removed After Concerns From Chaseâs Mother
Following the viral attention, Wilson launched a GoFundMe that raised $1,207 before being taken down at the request of Chaseâs mother. The TikToker later shared screenshots of messages explaining why the fundraiser needed to be removed.
âTylor needs medical attention, not money. But he refuses it,â his mother wrote. âBut money would not be a benefit to him.â
She also shared concerns about his ability to manage basic needs.
âI have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He canât manage money for meds himself.â
Fans React With Prayers and Support
As the videos spread, fans flooded social media with messages expressing sadness, concern, and hope for Chaseâs recovery.
âNothing to make fun of here, this is sad. Hope he gets help, hate seeing people lose their way,â one person wrote.
âPrayers for him. He was super happy to get recognized. I hope he gets back on his feet soon,â another added.
âIncredibly sad. Hollywood eats their young. Donât forget to say a prayer for the addict who still suffers,â a third comment read.
A fourth user wrote, âThis is tragic. Iâll pray for him. Hopefully, he can get clean and maybe, someone will give him some auditions. Itâll be a long road back, but if he wants to get clean, it’s doable, and Iâm sure a ton of people would be rooting for his recovery.â
Co-Stars Address the Video on the Podcast
As per the Sun, Chaseâs former co-stars also addressed the situation on âNedâs Declassified Podcast Survival Guide,â hosted by Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw.
âThere was some bad news that I received earlier this week about our dear friend Tylor Chase. It was a lot to process for me,â Lee said on the December 10 episode, calling the video âscary.â
âWhen I first saw, I was angry, because I was like, why put a camera on someoneâs face in hard times? But then I was upset with myself because I feel powerless because thereâs not much that I felt I could do. I didnât want to believe it at first, I was like, oh they just caught him at a bad time,â he continued.
Lee said he later realized Chase is facing serious challenges.
Shaw added, âYou canât do much, but I would love to go speak with him and just love on him and look him in the eye. I miss Tylor, I love Tylor so, so much.â
Chase appeared in 33 episodes of âNedâs Declassified School Survival Guide,â which aired for three seasons from 2004 to 2007. According to his IMDb page, he has four additional acting credits, with his most recent industry work dating back to 2011.
As concern continues to grow, fans and former colleagues alike are hoping Chase can get the help and support he needs.
