Patriots Hero K’Lavon Chaisson Sends Bold Message on Bouncing Back From Tough Loss to Bills

It was quite the Sunday for the New England Patriots. After trailing by two scores in the fourth quarter on the road in Baltimore, the Patriots rallied for a 28-24 victory that secured a playoff bid and keeps them apace with the Broncos in the race for the AFC’s No. 1 seed.

A week after dropping a tough home game to the Bills when they had a chance to lock up the division, New England responded exactly the way a championship team should — a road comeback win that proves their mettle in tough environments when the stakes are high.

With two weeks left in the regular season, the Patriots have two more divisional games to close out the season. First, they travel to New York to take on the Jets. Next, the Patriots have a home game against the Dolphins to close the season in a game where a win could clinch the division. It’ll be important for New England to continue to play their brand of tough, competitive football down the stretch.

“I think [it means] we’re everything we say we are,” said Patriots edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson during his press conference after the game, on what the comeback win means for the team. “Last week, we missed an opportunity to do that, so it was a quick turnaround to make sure we capitalized and finished and got better in that area. It’s all about the will and the want-to, and as a defense, we talked about it. It was all about making the plays that come to you and when you get that opportunity, make those plays. This is the day, this is the time to do it.”

The turnover battle in this game was tied two-two, but the Patriots secured some key fumbles in critical situations that flipped the game late. This included a late forced fumble on Ravens WR Zay Flowers that set up the game-winning touchdown.

“We knew they had a couple of speed skaters on that side of the ball,” Chaisson said on the style of playmakers Baltimore employs on offense. “Ball getting a little loose from their bodies, so obviously that’s the time to make the ball. See ball, get ball.”

“Ah, I see what you did there, that was cool,” Chaisson said with a smile, after a reporter made a pun with his name about chasing after the football. “In those moments right there, we’re hustling — and obviously, every play of the game you want to hustle and get to the ball, for sure. But you have to find that extra effort, you have to find that extra will-to, to make that play for your team. So I’m excited to have that opportunity for sure.”
