Spike Lee, Natasha Lyonne, Pablo Schreiber Share Tributes to the Late James Ransone

<p id=”par-1_10″>Hollywood is reacting to the tragic <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/before-james-ransone-death-wife-lost-3-very-dear-friends-suicide.html/”>death of James Ransone</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-2_22″>Ransone, 46, died by suicide on December 19. He is survived by his wife, Jamie McPhee, and their children, Jack and Violet.</p>

<p id=”par-3_67″>“I told you I have loved you 1000 times before and I know I will love you again,” McPhee wrote in a post shared on <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DSisLfbElmV/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>. “You told me – I need to be more like you and you need to be more like me – and you were so right. Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts – you, Jack and Violet. We are forever.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_43″>Ransone was known for playing Ziggy Sobotka in <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-wire-1-most-realistic-police-dramas-about-narcotics-says-former-dea-agent.html/”><em>The Wire</em></a><em>, </em>as well as for his roles in <em>The Black Phone, Tangerine, Ken Park, Generation Kill, </em>and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/notable-people/the-stars-of-it-chapter-two-pick-their-favorite-stephen-king-books-besides-it.html/”><em>It Chapter Two</em></a><em>. </em>After his death, tributes quickly poured in from those who had worked with him. </p>

<p id=”par-5_56″>“Love you with everything I got and holding our beloved brilliant peejo with grace gratitude and cosmic peace into this life and the next – family forever  beautiful jamie you are the best of us we love you,” Natasha Lyonne commented on McPhee’s post. Ransone appeared alongside Lyonne in a season 2 episode of <em>Poker Face. </em></p>

<p id=”par-6_19″>Pablo Schreiber, who played Ransone’s on-screen cousin Nick Sobotka in <em>The Wire, </em>also paid tribute to the late actor. </p>

<p id=”par-7_25″>“I am so so so sorry Jamie. I am here for you, for Jack and Violet. In any way that you need. Forever,” he wrote. </p>

<p id=”par-8_24″>“Love you. Love him and the beautiful family you guys made. Feel lucky to have known him,” commented <em>Drake & Josh</em> alum Josh Peck. </p>

<p id=”par-9_11″>Spike Lee recalled working with Ransone on two of his movies. </p>

<p id=”par-10_24″>“Rest In Peace To My Dear Brother,MR. JAMES RANSONE,” the director wrote on <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DSivWW3jZRE/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>. “We Rocked Together On RED HOOK SUMMER And INSIDE MAN.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_13″>Sean Baker, who directed Ransone in <em>Tangerine </em>and <em>Starlet, </em>also remembered his friend. </p>

<p id=”par-12_37″>“’ll miss you dearly,” he captioned an <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DSi4frukeRi/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> photo of  himself with the late actor. In another <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DSkar-UEfH5/?hl=en&img_index=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>post</a>, he recalled meeting Ransone “at a 24-hour animal hospital in Chelsea because both of our dogs had health emergencies. </p>

<p id=”par-13_41″>“We connected instantly and spoke for a couple of hours … from there we formed a friendship and we went on to make two films together in which he gave me brilliant performances … I  will forever cherish our time together.”</p>
