The Gladiators Christmas Celebrity special has crowned its victors after an edge-of-your-seat finale.
After a hugely successful launch last January, the star-studded version – still hosted by father-and-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh – returned for another year with a fresh set of faces to push to the physical max.
Fitness coach Joe Wicks and Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson headed up the men’s division, while real-life Olympian boxing medalist Nicola Adams and media personality Vogue Williams repped the women.
As the quartet faced off against 18 superhuman athletes to test their strength, speed and agility, in the end, only two could secure the well-earned win.
Joe Wicks and Vogue Williams each won against their opponent and hailed the Gladiators: Celebrity Special winners.
Health and wellness influencer Joe, who beat former King of the Jungle Sam, said: ‘Even though I had a bit of a breather, I still found that travelator hard. It’s much harder doing it in real life than watching it on TV.
‘I’m really chuffed that I won but I have to say Sam has been an amazing partner.’
Meanwhile, Vogue may have lost in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, but she’s finally managed to snag a reality TV victory after beating Nicola by two-hundredths of a second in a tighter-than-tight final race.
‘I honestly cannot believe it, I’ve had the best day ever. The crowd when I was doing so badly were so nice to me so thank you,’ she said.
Nicola took her loss like a true Olympic champ, saying: ‘I came down on the zipline and landed funny on my ankle and I just couldn’t get it going again.
Before joking: ‘This is the first silver medal I’ve had!’
Before stepping up to the plate, Vogue had shared that just taking part in the show was ‘living out [her] childhood dream’ while Joe had said he was ready to ‘give it everything he’s got’.
The pair have followed in the footsteps of Joel Dommett and Ellie Taylor, who won their respective arena battles at the start of the year.
It’s certainly a deserved win for The Body Coach, who was put through the wringer when recording the special.
In fact, one of the pro-Gladiators Viper (real name Quang Luong), was disqualified for starting too early but not after thumping Joe with a‘full whack to the head’ during the Duel challenge.
He recalled to The Sun: ‘Viper hit me a second before the whistle, I got a full whack to the head and I couldn’t recover. I got dizzy, everything flipped upside down.
‘He hit me again and I went over. To top it off, I landed on my head. I didn’t want to look bad, but I could have laid there for a couple of minutes!’
Gladiators: Celebrity Special is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The new series of Gladiators airs on BBC One and iPlayer in early 2026.
