Christine Lampard has confirmed her departure from a major ITV daytime show.

The broadcaster previously confirmed a major overhaul of its weekday schedule, with sweeping cuts and changes across the board.

Lorraine is being cut in half from an hour to just 30 minutes, while it will air on a 30-week ‘seasonal basis’ from January 2026, and Good Morning Britain will take over the 9-10am slot for the remainder of the year.

The changes mean the presenter lineup will look very different too, with Christine and Ranvir Singh leaving Lorraine after almost a decade filling in for host Lorraine Kelly on Fridays.

Christine shared an emotional video recapping her time on the show soundtracked by The Kinks classic Days.

‘After many years of being part of the @lorraine family it is now coming to an end,’ Christine captioned the post. ‘We’ve laughed, lunched and learnt so much from one another. Colleagues who have become the best of friends.’

She added: ‘As many of the team enter a new world in 2026, I want to thank every single person. I love you all! It has been the best of times ❤️❤️❤️’

Fans were gutted by confirmation Christine’s time on the show has called to an end, with some viewers hailing her the ‘best presenter on TV’.

‘Sorry to hear that Christine. I only watched when you were on, commented @shirley27jones, while others are hoping she could be in line to join Strictly Come Dancing after the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

‘Oh no!!!! You are always excellent and you are my pick for @bbcstrictly host. Please let the reason you are leaving be that,’ wrote @kelly.k.walker.

And @linzl quipped: ‘A huge miss! The best presenter on TV by far!! I hope you’ll be continuing to present….. or should I say, keeeeep dancing?!’

As well as Christine, Dr. Hilary Jones previously revealed he is leaving his slot as the show’s resident medic at the end of the year as part of the changes.

He told The Sun: ‘I’m still working there until December 31 and then I’m a free agent. It’s liberating from the constraints of a news programme presenter. I’ll probably come back as a guest presenter now and then.

‘People are being very sensitive to the fact that some people are having to move on. A lot of people are being redeployed elsewhere or in the same role. ITV, like everyone else, are having to make changes.’

Lorraine has admitted she was ‘disappointed’ to find out so many people would be losing their jobs as a result of ITV’s cuts.

‘Things have to change, I mean, I’ve been through so many regime changes in my life,’ she told BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. ‘For me, this is just another one, but it’s seismic.’

She added: ‘The thing that has upset me the most is the fact that we’ve got this great team, and obviously, that’s not going to be in place next year because jobs will go.

‘Hopefully I’ll be able to hang on to some of these amazing people – that’s my aim. It’s very, very sad. It really is.’

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
