Ex-Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has demanded the Italian media ‘stop’ with ‘made-up’ stories about his personal life amid bizarre and unfounded rumours that he has been dating Sydney Sweeney.
Pulisic is a familiar face to fans of the Premier League on the back of his four-year spell with Chelsea, in which he scored 26 goals in 145 appearances for the club.
In 2023, Pulisic departed English football to join AC Milan in a deal worth in the region of €22million (£19m), with the 27-year-old taking over the No.11 shirt previously worn by Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro.
Pulisic has proven a valuable addition to Milan’s squad and played an instrumental role last season as the club lifted the Italian Super Cup, scoring his side’s second in a 3-2 win over arch-rivals Inter in the final.
The United States international has picked up where he left off this term, scoring eight goals in his first 11 appearances of the Serie A campaign, with Milan sitting second in the table.
Throughout his time in Germany, England and, now, Spain, Pulisic has tended to stay away from the media spotlight, preferring instead to let his football do the talking.
But the recent circulation of gossip linking Pulisic with Hollywood actress Sweeney has forced the American’s hand. It’s believed the unfounded rumours originated from widely followed Instagram page DNA da Bomber.
After uploading a series of pictures from Milan’s 3-0 win over Verona on Instagram, Pulisic shared another post to his stories which read: ‘Also please stop with made up stories about my personal life.
‘Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.’
Pulisic is believed to be romantically involved with US golfer Alexa Melton, 25, who turned professional in the sport in 2023.
While Sweeney’s current relationship status is unknown, the 28-year-old – who has starred in Euphoria, Anyone But You and 2025 biopic Christy – was previously engaged to movie producer Jonathan Davino.

Widespread reports earlier this year indicated the Hollywood couple had decided to call time on their seven-year relationship together.
Asked if she was still planning a wedding during an interview with The Times in May, Sweeney bluntly replied: ‘No.
‘I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.’

Before her split from Davino, Sweeney was forced to play down ‘crazy’ rumours that she was having an affair with Glen Powell, her co-star in Anyone But You.
‘The craziest rumour I’ve is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star, Glen Powell. That’s obviously not true,’ she said while hosting Saturday Night Live.
‘Me and my fiance produced the movie together, and he was there the entire shoot.’
Sweeney added: ‘I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams, and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me. Can we cut to him?’
When the camera panned to Powell for comic effect, Sweeney joked: ‘That’s not my fiance! He’s in my dressing room!
‘But we’ve got a great show for you tonight.’
