Chevy Chase has long described fatherhood as one of the most meaningful roles of his life. He shares three daughters, Cydney, Caley, and Emily, with his wife, Jayni Chase, and raised them in a home shaped by humor, closeness, and creativity.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum, born Cornelius Crane Chase, built a family life rooted in laughter and deep affection.

The two married in 1982 and went on to welcome their daughters in the years that followed: Cydney in 1983, Caley in 1985, and Emily in 1988.

She Was Born in 1985 and Grew Up on Both Coasts

Caley Leigh Chase was born on January 19, 1985, the second of Chevy and Jayni’s three daughters.

When she was 10, her family moved from Los Angeles to New York City, a shift that helped shape her worldview and creative interests. In a 2018 interview with Magic Image Magazine, Caley reflected on what first drew her toward entertainment.

“I think it was originally my love of stories that drew me towards the film and television industry. I have always been very creative and loved the arts,” she said.

That early passion stayed with her as she grew up surrounded by storytelling, music, and performance.

She Built a Career in Acting, Music, and Writing

Caley’s creative instincts led her to pursue acting, music, and screenwriting as an adult.

“On a professional level, I am a well-trained actress. I fell in love with acting and have great respect for the craft,” she told Magic Image Magazine.

“I love it more and more as time goes by. As for singing, I grew up singing with my two sisters, both of whom are also very musical, so it’s definitely an important part of who I am.”

She later attended LOLAS Acting School in Los Angeles. She made history as the first female pianist at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, a landmark venue in the comedy world.

She Has Worked Onscreen With Her Famous Dad

Caley has not only followed in her father’s footsteps but has also shared the screen with him.

Her debut role came in 2010’s short film “Hotel Hell Vacation,” where Chevy reprised his role as Clark Griswold from “National Lampoon’s Vacation.” They later appeared together in “Before I Sleep” in 2013 and “Zombie Town” in 2023.

Reflecting on her upbringing, Caley acknowledged both the challenges and joys of having a famous parent.

“It has been both difficult and wonderful growing up with a famous father,” she told Magic Image Magazine. “It was tricky learning how to make friends and starting to date, because some people are just enamored by fame and try to connect with you for the wrong reasons.”

At the same time, she emphasized the positives. “It was also great, because he’s a wonderful and hilarious dad! There was always a lot of laughter in our household — there still is!”

She Shares a Deep Bond With Her Father and Her Own Family

Caley has often spoken of Chevy as both a mentor and a steady source of inspiration throughout her career.

She credits him with shaping her approach to the industry and to life, saying that success comes from “being professional, working hard and having fun.”

Reflecting on his influence, she added, “I look up to my father a lot. He is so good at what he does, and I admire him so much for that. Watching him work has helped me grow as an actor.”

A devoted daughter, Caley frequently honors her father on social media. In a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute in 2020, she called him “the greatest dad in the world,” writing, “I’m so lucky to have you to bounce ideas off of, giggle with, and share stories with- through all the ups and downs.”

In June 2022, Caley married her husband, Milo, surrounded by her close-knit family, continuing the strong family tradition she has long celebrated.
