Husband detained after allegedly driving into California home where wife found dead
San Diego police have detained a man after he allegedly drove his pickup into a Bay Park house where his wife was then found dead Monday morning, a police spokesperson said.
The crash happened just after 7:35 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a white Toyota Tacoma inside the front of the left side of the home on Dakota Drive at the terminus of Fontana Avenue.
The department’s Homicide Unit is handling the investigation, the spokesperson said. Lt. Chris Tivanian said the woman was found dead inside the home, and investigators were still working to determine whether she had been in the truck or in the home when the incident occurred.
He said both the husband and wife had sustained burns. The husband was taken to a hospital.
Police have not released the names of the man or woman. No further details were immediately available.
