Michael ‘Venom’ Page Announces UFC Return and Fight Location

Michael ‘Venom’ Page recently revealed when and where UFC fans can expect to see him return to the octagon. Page, one of the most dynamic and charismatic fighters in the UFC, will be competing in the near future.

‘MVP’ has become one of the UFC’s biggest signings after a strong stint with Bellator. He carried over his entertaining fighting style and has found success in the octagon.

Page defeated Kevin Holland in his debut but lost a unanimous decision to Ian Machado Garry in his second bout. However, he has since competed at middleweight, where he has won back-to-back fights over Shara Magomedov and Jared Cannonier.

During an appearance on Shxts N Gigs Podcast, Page said that he has been eager to return. He revealed that he is expected to return in March, when the UFC hosts an event in London, England. Based on his popularity and current form, it makes sense why he would be saved for the card.

“My likely next fight is going to be, because [the UFC are] coming to London as they always do, March,” Page said. “I’m a big name over here [in England], they want me to fight, but they still haven’t got an opponent.”

Page added that although he has a timeline, there is still no opponent.

“[UFC said], ‘You’re definitely going to fight in March and we’re still trying to figure out an opponent.’”

Michael ‘Venom’ Page Explains Why He Fought at Middleweight

Michael ‘Venom’ Page also explained his reasoning for fighting a middleweight in his last two bouts. He noted that it wasn’t his preference, as he had actually pushed to return to welterweight.

Page has performed well at middleweight. However, he was told nobody was available to face him at welterweight. ‘MVP’ revealed that one welterweight he proposed was immediately turned down, despite the fighter having just competed.

“I want to be at welterweight. I’ve taken a spur of the moment middleweight fight with Shara ‘Bullet’, didn’t mind,” Page told Shxts N Gigs Podcast. “Then I was like, give me a welterweight fight again, ‘Nobody’s available.’ Okay, give me another middleweight fight.”

He emphasized that it has been somewhat frustrating to be out for so long.

“[I] messaged [the UFC matchmakers], ‘That’s a great fight for me in London.’ [They respond], ‘Oh, we’ve got plans for him.’ That [fighter] just stepped out of the cage,” Page said. “I’m already out for months, and you don’t have plans for me, but you have plans for him. That doesn’t make any sense, bro.”

Page Confirms He Will Be Fully Prepared for UFC Return

Although he has been out of action since August, Page confirmed that he will be fully prepared for his return. He pointed out a positive from his layoff, noting that the timing worked out well.

Page was cast, along with several other current and former UFC fighters, in the upcoming Road House sequel. He said juggling both his fight preparation with his filming obligations would have been difficult. However, he made it clear that he will enter his next bout with a full training camp.

“I’m [out filming the Road House sequel] until December,” Page told Shxts N Gigs Podcast. “If I had a fight, it would’ve been hard to do both of those things anyway, and it allows me to have the time between January and March to have a proper prep and be ready for action.”
