The final installment of beloved hit show “Stranger Things” is finally here. Season 5, Volume 2 of the supernatural ’80s teen fantasy show hit Netflix on December 25, and eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted a mistake that sent editors scrambling for a fix.
The issue was a seriously out-of-place wardrobe malfunction. E! News says the character of Holly Wheeler was seen wearing a “historically inaccurate” piece of clothing that totally clashed with the era. The offending scene was caught in episode 7, “The Bridge,” in the scene where Holly is attempting to escape after being trapped under Vecna’s vines.
A fan posted a screenshot on Instagram of the character’s arm emerging from one of the pods, and un Under Armour logo can be seen at the bottom of her sleeve.
The fan pointed out, “In Stranger Things Season 5 (set in 1987), Holly Wheeler is wearing Under Armour, which wasnât founded until 1996!” Editors have since removed the error, as another commented to note, “It’s not there anymore. I just rewatched that scene.”
Why Was Holly Wheeler Recast in ‘Stranger Things’?
The character of Holly Wheeler is now played by Nell Fisher, but she was formerly portrayed by twin actresses Anniston (Annie) and Tinsley Price.
So why were the twins replaced with a different actress? Cosmo explained in November 2025 that the twins, who are currently 13, stepped into the role back in 2016. But the outlet says now, the character of Holly is much more central to the plot, and actress who could take on the heavier focus was needed.
GettyProducer Ross Duffer explained to Deadline, “As we just broke Season five, we realized that Holly playing a larger role, thatâs really when the season started to take shape.” He continued, “What we really wanted to do, and what that scene with her and Mike is talking about is, obviously our cast is older now, but we wanted to bring back the show full circle to season one. And to really do that, we needed kids in there again, so it felt like the best way to do that was through Holly.”
Millie Bobby Brown Recently Reminisced on First Meeting With Noah Schnapp
Costars Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp sat down with Vogue in a November segment to answer a quick round of rapid-fire questions.
During the game, Schnapp revealed his first impression of Brown was meeting her right before she got her hair shaved to play Eleven. “Then I didn’t recognize you, and you were like, ‘It’s Mill!’” he laughed. He went on, “We clicked like, right away. I thought you were so funny.”
Likewise, Brown said her first impression of the actor, who portrays Will Byers in the series, was “He’s really funny, he’s really nice.” She added, “I did have the biggest crush on you. I loved you so much.”
