The Miami Heat are seemingly always at the center of midseason trade talks, and with stars such as the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo being potentially available, the Heat could be interested.
With a superstar available, the question arises about what a potential package would look like. However, NBA insider Zach Lowe revealed the Heat would not include center Bam Adebayo in trade talks.
“It just burrowed into my head, ‘would they ever put Bam in a package,’” Lowe said. “Other teams have for sure asked about Bam and have been told ‘hell no.’”
“As they sniff around at Giannis and other star players, all of those star players are going to want to play with Bam.”
Adebayo is the longest-reigning player on the Heat roster. The team drafted him in 2017, and he’s spent his entire professional career in Miami.
Adebayo is also the most decorated current Heat player.
He’s been named an All-Star three times, NBA All-Defensive First or Second team four times and has won the gold medal at the Olympics twice.
Miami Heat Will be Active in Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Talks

The Miami Heat are unwilling to include Bam Adebayo in trade packages, but that doesn’t mean the team won’t be involved in the race for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Zach Lowe added that Antetokounmpo landing in Miami is a real possibility.
“I do think the Heat will more than sniff around the Giannis situation,” Lowe said.
With Adebayo not available in a potential trade package, that leaves room in a package for younger, rotational pieces.
Center Kel’el Ware arguably has the most potential among the Heat’s younger players.
The second-year center from Indiana is fifth in the NBA in rebounds with 10.6 per game, along with 12.4 points. He’s one of just nine players currently averaging a double-double.
Ware has taken a big leap this season, namely with his three-point shooting, which has jumped up to 45.3% on nearly three attempts per game.
Ware was recently named a “top asset” in a potential Heat trade by Bleacher Report.
Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo has Been in Trade Rumors Before

GettyBam Adebayo’s name is constantly in the rumor mill of potential Miami Heat trades.
Bam Adebayo’s name being thrown around in trade conversations is nothing new.
Potential trades have linked Adebayo to teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks, among others.
However, Adebayo has never hinted that he’s unhappy in Miami, and the team has no plans to trade their franchise star.
Sports Illustrated called Adebayo the least likely player to be traded on the Heat’s roster because “he’s a franchise cornerstone.”
All-Star guard Tyler Herro is another franchise star whose name is repeatedly put in trade talks.
Herro was included in trade talks in 2022, when the Heat were trying to facilitate a trade for Kevin Durant.
Ultimately, Herro wasn’t moved and has now become the type of player the Heat considers to be “untouchable.”
