The Masked Singer is back in full swing, closing its epic two-part return with yet another elimination.

Last night we saw Anne-Marie unveiled as Goldfish, having fronted the show’s first-ever house band, No Trout.

This year’s first contestant was also eliminated, with Disc Jockey failing to get the crowd on side, only to be revealed as The One Show’s Alex Jones.

Sunday’s episode saw the panel unable to look away as six more characters took the stage, as well as host Joel Dommett in a truly eye-popping purple jumpsuit.

Davina McCallJonathan RossMaya Jama, and Mo Gilligan were working overtime as the contestants gave some clues even Sherlock Holmes would struggle to decipher.

With some wild guesses like Queen Camilla floating around, it’s no surprise the ultimate unmasking had the panellists’ jaws on the floor.

As Arctic Fox, Conkers, Monkey Business, and Toastie live to sing another day, Teabag and Yak went head-to-head.

Unfortunately, it was curtains for Teabag, who was revealed as Professor Green.

Names like Richard Osman, Dan Snow, Stephen Merchant, Mike Tindall and Judge Rob Rinder had been thrown out by the panel.

‘I’m really happy none of you guessed it was me,’ said the Just Be Good To Green singer.

His ‘Royaltea’ hint was a nod to his charity work with Heads Together; a campaign from the Royal Foundation which focuses on mental health.

Meanwhile, other clues pointed to his Hackney upbringing and song Bad Decisions.

Professor Green admitted he was ‘absolutely’ nervous but singing with a mask on was also a little freeing.

After the elimination, he shared: ‘I know four of the panel. Over the last fifteen years, I’ve seen all of them multiple times, and quite regularly at times, and none of them were anywhere near [guessing it was me].

‘I was laughing behind the mask. I just thought surely one of them is going to get it. But no-one guessed!’

Also unmasked was tonight’s guest singer, with the panel’s wild guesses ranging from Bradley Walsh to Peter Andre.

After singing a rendition of Pinball Wizard with his band the Antarctic Funkies, the mystery singer was unmasked.

It was, to everyone’s surprise, the one and only Matt Lucas behind the mask.

The comedian shocked the panel with his great voice but admitted the penguin suit was ‘very hot’.

His choice of costume came simply because he ‘likes a chocolate biscuit’ while other clues referenced his appearance in Gladiator 2.

Matt then joined the panel to lend a hand at guessing the contestants’ identities.

Last year’s season was won by West End performer Samantha Barks, who took the crown from 2024 champ Danny Jones.

Past winners before them were Charlie Simpson (2023), Natalie Imbruglia (2022), Joss Stone (2021), and, of course, the original victor, Nicola Roberts as Queen Bee in 2020.

Viewers will have to wait a little longer to see Red Panda perform, though, as their presence was removed from the launch show just hours before it hit screens.

In a turbulent start to the series, ITV issued a statement, telling Metro: ‘In light of the tragic events in Switzerland, we took the decision to remove Red Panda’s performance on The Masked Singer owing to potential insensitivities within the theme and lyrics of the song.

‘Viewers will get to see Red Panda perform in the coming weeks.’

The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV1.
