UConn star Azzi Fudd and Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers share a special bond. The two were longtime UConn teammates and there continues to be WNBA rumors that the two could reunite in Dallas.
The Wings hold the No. 1 pick, and Fudd is one of the top prospects in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Off the court, there has been plenty of speculation that Bueckers and Fudd could be dating.
The two stars have done little to quiet these rumors. Paige is cheering on Azzi and UConn at the Final Four.

1. During a 2025 Interview, Paige Bueckers Labeled UConn Star Azzi Fudd as Her Girlfriend
After months of rumors, Bueckers appeared to confirm that she is dating Fudd. During the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend, ESPN reposted an interview Bueckers did with the outlet Wag Talk where the star was asked to answer questions about her “D1 girlfriend.”
At the end of the interview, Bueckers was asked to reveal her girlfriend to which the Wings guard responded: “Azzi Fudd.” Bueckers and Fudd have been mostly quiet about their relationship status since this interview.
2. Azzi Fudd Posted a Photo With a Phone Case That Said ‘Paige Bueckers’ Girlfriend’
Rumors about Fudd and Bueckers’ potential relationship heated up after a viral social media post. Back in June 2025, Fudd posted a selfie of herself holding a phone case with the words “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend” on the back, per Sports Illustrated.
During a July 22, 2025, appearance on “Good Game with Sarah Spain,” Fudd revealed that Bueckers has given her the nickname of “The Peoples’ Princess.”
“I think Paige made a comment about how I’m the princess because coach (Geno Auriemma) doesn’t yell at me and somehow that morphed into people calling me ‘The People’s Princess,’” Fudd said, per Yahoo Sports. “Yeah, I’m not really sure. I know I’m not mad about it though.”
3. Paige Bueckers & Azzi Fudd Could Reunite in the WNBA on the Dallas Wings
There is a chance that Bueckers and Fudd could soon reunite as WNBA teammates. The Dallas Wings won the WNBA lottery and hold the No. 1 pick.
Fans will find out on Monday, April 13, if Fudd will be selected at No. 1 and join Bueckers in Dallas. ESPN’s Michael Voepel’s WNBA mock draft projects that the Wings will snag Fudd at No. 1.
“The No. 1 pick in ESPN’s WNBA mock draft remains the same: UConn guard Azzi Fudd, who could be on her way to joining former Huskies teammate Paige Bueckers, the 2025 Rookie of the Year, with the Dallas Wings,” Voepel wrote in a February 13, WNBA mock draft.
“… Fudd’s ability to stretch defenses will be of great value in the WNBA, and she is also a reliable defensive player. Plus, the UConn pedigree goes a long way in a league that has seen so many outstanding former Huskies.”
4. Azzi Fudd on Paige Bueckers: ‘I Feel Like We Really Clicked (When) We Met’
On August 14, 2025, Bueckers and Fudd did a joint interview on the “Close Friends Only with Instagram” show. Both Fudd and Bueckers reflected on their initial meeting.
“Almost kind of immediately. I feel like we really clicked (when) we met,” Fudd said of her connection with Bueckers. “… I felt like on the way back home, like I feel like we clicked immediately at USA Basketball when we met. On the court, we clicked. I don’t remember talking to you at all off the court.
“But I remember like the plane ride home to Minnesota, talking to you and really liking you. And then that’s when I thought our personality, like off the court, our personalities clicked.”
5. WNBA Star Paige Bueckers Claims to Have ‘Sexier’ Jump Shot Than UConn’s Azzi Fudd
During the same podcast, the two also debated who has the better jump shot. During her rookie WNBA season, Bueckers shot 47.7% from the field and 33.1% from long range in 36 starts.
During her career at UConn, Fudd has been more lethal from behind the three-point line. Fudd is a career 42.5% three-point shooter while shooting 47.2% from the field during her five seasons at UConn.
“Everybody’s going to say yours, but like mine isn’t ugly,” Bueckers remarked while comparing their shots. “Mine’s like pretty.
“Like I got that little whoop whoop. …Yours is like prettier, but mine is like sexier. …That’s facts.”
