Navy Pier will host its biggest display of fireworks ever this summer in a special Fourth of July show for the United States’ 250th birthday.
At 10 p.m. July 4, viewers can expect “bigger, more extravagant” fireworks than the pier’s typical shows, said Molly Healy, a pier spokesperson.
The pier’s fireworks typically blast off every Wednesday at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 10 p.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
But this Fourth of July display will last 15 minutes — five minutes longer than usual — and have almost twice as many fireworks compared to those shows, Healy said.
The display will also cover about twice as much space along the lakefront, Healy said.
This is the first time since 2019 that the pier’s Fourth of July display will be held on the actual holiday, Healy said.
