Former child star Jamie Lynn Spears skyrocketed in popularity while starring on “Zoey 101” from 2005-2008. Shortly after production wrapped on the final season, Jamie Lynn announced her pregnancy. She gave birth to her daughter, Maddie, in 2008.
Jamie Lynn eventually parted ways with Maddie’s father and married Jamie Watson in 2014. They welcomed a daughter together in 2018. Maddie appears to have adopted her stepfather’s last name.
After all these years, Maddie Watson is now 17 and preparing for high school graduation.
Jamie Lynn Spears’ Daughter Experiences Senior Year With Her Friends
On Maddie Watson’s personal Instagram page, she posted several photos of her friends during the last few days of their senior year.
“I’m gonna miss them,” she simply captioned the post.
While Maddie seems to be handling the major milestone well, her famous mother is feeling incredibly emotional. Like many other parents, Jamie Lynn Spears is having trouble accepting that her oldest daughter is graduating.
“Welpâ¦.the grad invites are sent, the cap and gown arrived, and the last regular day of school is hereâ¦.I guess the lovely state of denial that I forced myself to be in has to end, bc the reality of time is coming at me like a freight train,” the “Zoey 101” star shared in a new Instagram post. She attached several of Maddie’s senior pictures.
“I know the saying ‘the days are long, but the years are short’ is one of the most cliche sayings, bc itâs said so much, but I now know that cliches are only said so much bc they continue to ring true in every lifetime throughout the test of time,” Jamie Lynn continued. “Maybe, people only hate cliches, bc they are the undeniable, unavoidable truth hitting us right in the face, and if youâre fortunate enough, kids growing up is one of those few guarantees in life.”
She went on to describe how watching her children learn and grow is “one of the most beautiful and fulfilling things we can experience as humans.”
“Itâs bittersweet, bc youâre so proud of everything they have accomplished this far, and so excited to watch everything that their future will bring, while also longing for them to stay your baby forever,” the actress concluded the post.
Maddie Watson Recovered After a Devastating ATV Accident in Her Childhood
Many of Jamie Lynn Spears’ fans recall the horrifying ATV accident that Maddie suffered as a little girl.
“I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and Iâm very blessed. So yeah, Iâve just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing, and they did not do anything to me,” the teen shared in a YouTube video last year.
Thankfully, Maddie went on to make a full recovery.
Jamie Lynn Spears is incredibly close with her daughters, even requesting special accommodations during her run on “Dancing With the Stars.” She shot many rehearsal scenes near her home so she could be near her family.
