Euphoria viewers ‘can’t watch’ Jacob Elordi’s gruesome wedding scene

Another week, another episode of Euphoria that’s raised hackles.

For this third episode of the season, the outrage has less to do with Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie and her pursuit of OnlyFans and is more focused on her now-husband Nate (Jacob Elordi).

Their highly-anticipated nuptials, complete with $50,000 worth of floral arrangements (in fairness, they did look good), unfolded in a wedding that was as gaudy as the couple’s crumbling Los Angeles home.

It was inevitable, but the wedding did not go to plan.

Instead of returning home to a bed of rose petals and a bottle of chilled bubbly, Nate and Cassie came in to find another surprise altogether.

Do you remember the menacing Naz (Jack Topalian) from the previous episode? Nate had met with him and promised to repay some outstanding debts. 

Except, it seems the payment schedule so far was not to Naz’s liking, so he decided to take something from Nate for himself.

In violent scenes at the end of the latest episode, Naz and his lackeys broke into the happy couple’s home and lay in wait for their return. Then, they pounced.

Having beaten Nate to within an inch of his life in front of a crying, screaming Cassie (totally in her wheelhouse), Naz produced a pair of pruning shears. Oh dear.

Nate was pinned down and the smallest toe on one of his feet was promptly severed. End of episode.

It was a gruesome scene that left many Euphoria fans struggling to watch (but what’s new?).

Taking to social media to react to the moment, Katherine tweeted: ‘Me seeing Nate get his pinky toe removed like don’t f*** with the mob but I flinched so hard.’

Haina demanded: ‘YO EUPHORIA WHY TF IS HE CUTTING NATES TOE OFF,’ while Jehanne questioned: ‘Why was it so gory we didn’t have to see everything bro I couldn’t even watch.’

However, given Nate’s past incarnation in seasons one and two as a literal psycho, not everyone in the fandom was that cut up about seeing his toe lopped off. 

(Even if his character does seem to have undergone some dramatic counselling or a personality transplant since we last saw him).

One such fan wrote on X: ‘This made me so happy all shade. Imma sleep good tonight knowing that man is missing a toe.’

‘Am I supposed to feel bad for Nate and Cassie? Cause I don’t lmaooo cut his whole foot off,’ wrote another viewer.
