Priscilla Presley Reflects on Grief and Family Changes After Lisa Marie’s Passing

Priscilla Presley

Priscilla Presley is sharing a deeply personal update on life in the years following the devastating loss of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

Speaking candidly during a live conversation at the Westgate Las Vegas on May 2, the 80-year-old reflected on how grief has reshaped her family dynamic, according to E! News.

Priscilla Opens Up on the Current State of the Family

Three years after Lisa Marie’s sudden death at age 54, Priscilla admitted that the loss has left a lasting emotional impact.

“It’s kind of separated us in a way,” she said. “You know, we would get together and have meals and have family.”

Priscilla explained that part of the shift is natural, as her granddaughters—17-year-old twins Harper and Finley Lockwood—are growing up and carving out their own lives.

Back in November 2025, she graced the cover of EQLuxe alongside her two granddaughters in a rare moment.

“They’ve got their boyfriends and do their thing,” she added, noting how the family’s once-tight routines have evolved.

However, her son, Navarone Garibaldi, offered a slightly different perspective on when the distance began.

According to him, the family’s emotional divide traces back even earlier—to the 2020 death of Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough.

“I think actually losing Ben was the first thing that separated us,” he shared. “When you would think that should be something that would bring everyone together. That somehow separated us further because everyone grieves in different ways.”

Despite those challenges, he emphasized that the family has found ways to reconnect over time.

“I feel like we’re actually closer together,” he added, reflecting on the period after Lisa Marie’s passing in 2023.

Riley Keough Previously Talked About Losing Her Mom

Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, has also spoken about the emotional aftermath of her mother’s death.

In a past interview with Vanity Fair, she described the period as overwhelming and uncertain.

“When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives,” she said. “Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us.”

Riley acknowledged that the family faced moments of tension as they navigated grief, but expressed hope for stability moving forward. “There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was,” she shared.

Priscilla Recalled the Day Lisa Marie Passed in Her Memoir

For Priscilla, the loss remains profound.

In her 2025 memoir, she described Lisa Marie’s death as one of the most painful moments of her life, per an except obtained by People.

“It was the second saddest day of my life, other than losing Elvis,” she wrote, referencing her late former husband, Elvis Presley. “It took a long time to come to terms with the fact that Lisa was gone.”

Recalling the day Lisa Marie died, Priscilla shared that the family spent hours at the hospital hoping for a different outcome. “We were there all day long,” she said. “We just couldn’t believe it—didn’t want to believe it. It was hard on all of us, it still is.”
